Sweet man....how are the clones going?

If you are bubbling....I personally dont think the dome is necessary.

They're doing alright, 4 still stand. There seems to be some bumps forming- but I don't want to get my hopes up. When would you suggest introducing nutes to the clones? Ie before roots, after stubble has shown, sufficient roots, etc. This will be my first successful cloning process, if things go according..

The RH is sitting at 99% and temps at 79* inside the dome.. Is there something to do with too much moisture when using the dome and bubbler? Makes sense..

Kool I think you may be a lucky charm... Went out to check the kids and I have visible sprouts on all four clones.

May be moving one PG to the flower cab and start the TD on a 12/12 cycle... or 11/13 :O

Where's Fran @, I know he's somewhere... I remember we had spoken of this but cant seem to find where. lol. Fuckin weed..

Anyways I dont know what to do from here! I have experience up to this point! When do you start feeding clones, and at what level? Same as plant cutting was taken from?

I have read and read and read, but every time it seems too vague to take it to heart, or another article for that matter.

I may have missed it...but what is in their solution now?

bumps are good! As long as they are white (ish) ?

I am under the belief that clones need to be stressed or order to produce roots faster. For example, my 1st batch of clones were submerged in my solution in the bubbler....they werent stressed enough to develop roots as they could uptake everything they needed...when i changed the water levels...then i saw some action.

I guess maybe the same could be said for the dome. The humidity is so great that the leaves are able to absorb the moisture and sustain their life (for now)

So im no expert....in fact i am only on my 2nd ever bubble clone mission. But the changes i made have made all the difference. 6 days and i have roots showing on 4 of the 15 i have in. Bumps on most of them. I think it is important to get roots as quickly as possible, so the foliage stays pristine and transplanting to soil (or other media) 'takes' quicker. Also, In my situation i want the clones out of the bubbler by 14 days. So my new ones can go in

Not the greatest of photos...but yeah...a bit of action there. :)

The roots need to keep developing. Before i move mine to soil (which could be the same for adding nutes) i want a good little root mass going on.

^^^^^^This post of mine is old news (and irrelevant!) ! :-P
haha completely topical. The stress theory does make sense, we're trying to start survival mode n all... I think these are on day 6 now. Just stoked the stubs progressed to the point that it I feel comfortable confirming a successful cloning.

As for the transplant...hahaha... idk. I rock Hydroton in 3.75's right now, may have been better off going with Rockwool but thought it would be more cost effective to bubble em. Do we just put them straight into the 'ton?

Ill be scrogging these tykes, but still don't know if there would be enough support beforehand.

I just dont want to end up given em a good ol nute burn lol. I have a sick talent for it..

Hell yea... I need to make note of how much stem you have to root... should have made my cuttings that long..

Oh sweet...6 days aswell! I think that is pretty good. Plus i like how you can check on them in a bubbler without disturbing the roots.

Yip...i made my cuttings much bigger this time round. (10-15cm tall) so they have more stem to root i guess.

Still havent delevloped a safe technique for putting them into soil after they root....i almost passed out the other day from holding my breath... :-P

Cant help with your particular transplant...imagine it will be tricky aswell.

Well, I think ive settled my PH flux, Ive lowered the nutes back to the 350-400 range and it seems to staying in a decent range- though now,

My Tangerine Dream is starting to yellow up a bit, still has noticeable growth every 12 hours- but the "preflowers" are almost to a white than yellow. Starting in the middle working it's way outward from the leaves- I have read this is a serious calcium issue, along with frail, weak, and soft stems/new growth.

Always somethin'

It is about time for a res change and I am thinking this deficiency is from not using ANY Cal/Mag in my top off waterings :eyesmoke: Ive always had issues overdosing when using it on every top off, and a deficiency without any... go figure. So I will be playing around with this in the future...

I had foliar fed my TD with 150ppm Cal/Mag solution (Monday night, i think- made it perk up a bit- confirms the def. instead of toxicity- I had covered my SLH- but apparently not well enough, the left has some burns on the lowest set of leaves. Literally looks like solution sat on the leaves and scorched em.

Live and learn.

Other than that... the ol lady swears the "entire garage" smells like weed, she's full of it... lol. Naw, I dont think it does, but I have noticed a severe straight ass of skunk smell reaping havoc in Narnia- Source: the more Sativa Dominant Super Lemon Haze.

Bring. it. On.

Ill update after the res change, hope all is well

Yup I got me a sat dom SLH that smells of skunk in veg, ass in flower and lemon when it's done. The misses is probably right about a little smell, she's just "exaggerating to clarify".

Woke up @ 6am. (doesnt happen often, 2nd shift) Went to my dentist app, came home and spent the day in Narnia.

Redressed the flower cabinet- getting it swept out and ready for the transition with the TD and A51; getting that shitty mylar off the back wall and sealing all outlets and light leaks from prior use. I cannot stand the relfective mylar, "panda" film is where it's at.

So much more neat.

Changed the Tangerine Dream's res, and ended up changing the SLH's as well. Theyve been drinking quite a bit lately and didnt want to top off.. woulda dropped the ppm's well under 200. pffft

SLH- 460ppm, 5.9 (197ppm Cal/Mag)
TD- 620ppm, 6.1 (227ppm Cal/Mag)

After 12+ hours the TD is stretching for the light again and reading down to 600. TG. My ppm's were rising there for a couple days..

I REALLY dont want to take one of my progrows down for just ten days, how I have them mounted with the plumber's tape is on the side nuts- that drop the whole back out, so I have to take the whole shelf out, prop it up upside down....

So Im gonna see what I cant figure out..

Im currently figuring out how to exhaust my "portable" AC unit, big ol Whynter Unit- $75 on craigslist new in box. fucking steal. But the ONLY spot I can "keep it out of the way" with is where my water heater's at on the opposing side.

Good Times. :eyesmoke:

Few pics to update every body, give you an idea of what I am talking about with the SLH burns and the TD nightmare.

RIU needs to make an auto update feature on here.. Wouldnt have gotten this if I hadnt stopped and went outside for a second, got baked, forgot about the computer and sat down on the couch; then got on my phone... saw this. And now we're here.

I want my Super Lemon Haze... right about now. I did notice when I had walked out into the garage this morning, running late, that there WAS a faint wiff of skunkass. Realized I had unplugged my Inline Fan that recirculates the air through the filter. I have to quit smoking out there..

AND I had just won myself another Hanna continuous Meter for the flower cabinet. fucking score man.

Good news is... I can continuously keep ANY plant alive up to four weeks old... HA! Beat that!

Lol fuuuck... at least the clones are doing alright.

A lot of people use epsom salt in dwc for mag... not sure what is a good alternative for cal. I'm running Dyna-Gro too.. have Botanicare Cal-Mag but I'm running tap water now and don't need it.

10/14 photoperiod you will lose 112 hours or 4.75 days of light spread out over an 8 week flowering period. Not really sure how this would effect yield, but probably not that much. Just a guess though, give it a try.

Why did you choose LED over HID?

Nice looking Cab Brother It Looks Like A Sterilite With Double Doors?
I don't remember what brand it is brother, Ill jump on and check here in a bit. I picked one up from Lowe's and shortly after snagged another. They aren't the best sq. ft, but fit perfectly into the little nook I had for it previously- and luckily, fits just about right in my current room. aka. Narnia. If they were both 2x4, they wouldn't fit in the room with space to walk, doors, and accessary electronics, totes, RO....yah know.. So till I can move to the cellar, which would FUCKING ROCKKKK, perfect ambient temps and RH...... till then, Ill be with this setup; and probably still be running strictly LED. But I wont be going down there till I can run Legal.

Why did you choose LED over HID?
I had a Hydrofarm Daystar hood running a 400w MH (7200k) at my previous house, stealth was not as important, but still a big deal. So I had originally tried to run one 6" Hydrofarm Fan and a couple duct boosters to connect both cabinets into a single cooling system,

Worked.. but not very well. Then purchased my cheapo fan+filter combo and rigged it up as so. Come to find out the only possible way to keep my filter inside the actual cab itself, was to remove my hood. Idk if you can tell in the top corners there are holes I had cut for the ducting for the previous rig.

I have known about LED through my whole journey of growing, my first light was a triband 90w UFO that I ran in a 9 cu. ft plywood box with lock, ran out of space and closed up shop- decided I wanted the density of HID with LED for Vegging and Supplements-

Now I am here, owned 6 different LED panels, ran them all, developed an opinion- and moved on past to the keepers. LED is taking over, the efficiency blows anything else out of the water, the intensity is getting there, and the possibilities are endless. I have my first child due VERY soon and stealth is most important, I don't think I could pull off 2 6" fans running (even on my Grozone temp controllers), the one is still a battle of it's on, though with the pumps and lights running its all kind of rambled into one bunch of jargon.

Ill post some pics later tonight, the Tangerine Dream looks much much better- greening back up a bit.

Aside from heat and stealth, how do you like LED vs HID? Like as far as yield/bud hardness/quality. I was looking at LED pretty hard, but I ended up moving to a place where I can run a 400w HID tent with 4" ventilation and all that. Plus I've kinda always thought LED was about on par with or slightly better than CFL.

My 4" inline blows on max 24/7, so I've been thinking about upgrading to 6" ventilation and just running the fan at a lower speed to lower the noise of my fan. Another thing on the list of shit to do is get a walmart tote and build a sound dampening box for my inline. I think my air pump is even louder than my inline... but I put a small piece of foam in the pump intake and it quieted shit down a lot.

Here you go brother Dawg, http://www.lowes.com/pd_339957-742-193587_4294857685__?productId=3295500&Ns=p_product_avg_rating|1&pl=1&currentURL=?Ns=p_product_avg_rating|1&facetInfo=

There are many better options out there, but at the time I had a place under a stairway that this had fit perfect- just no ventilation lol. Obviously had to be the Veg cab and the Flower was upstairs.

I am a guy that doesnt neccessarily "care" about yield, I would rather have something that put my dick in the dirt than a whole buncha dirt to put my dick in...

We all want the most out of what we have, and I think LED's are just limited in their coverage; if you find the right watts for your space, nothing else will matter and you will turn to the darkside.

The colors I had gotten from my first LED were amazing.. I couldnt understand why it was so.. almost luminous green, neon hue green. I loved it, but outgrew the small footprint, I had never gotten this neon green from HID- I always have seriously thick, leafy, hardy side branching under my MH, and I think the only difference between the "structure" of this between HID/LED is the thickness of the branch and amount of foliage. Yea, LED's dont penetrate as deeply as HID, but most of the time they dont have to, unless youre just growing some straight trees, and at that point, youd be better off taking em outside.

Stealth is priority, I have my first lil tyke due in less than a week and constantly feel a sense of unease sending my pics via Gmail, on my iphone (sgroogled anyone?). I just couldnt hide the HID, it wasnt happening. I have ran pumps as small as Tetra 60's up to the 1440 and 1720(?) Sunleaves pumps- learned the steady median of results and usage was a must- kind of rolls the same way with HID/LED to me... unless a 'mmerial, legal, grower- it just doesnt seem worth it.

I just sold all of my old bulbs, ballasts and accessories on ebay and got close to 1,100 back out of it... what was i doing?? I dont even want to think about how much money Ive lost in this hobby, but it is all a learning experience to take from

On top of tax season and FIP from work.. A51 isnt gonna know what to do with themselves.. lol.

Kid's gonna be pretty damn spoiled for a while too..

ANYways.

Pretty quiet Sunday.. been browsing the DIY world a bit heavier again since the holidays..

lil somethin somethin..

https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/580314-super-easy-diy-led-micro.html

Though he suggests a 5:2:1(R:W:B) instead of 9:2:1, so I spent last night breaking down the %'s of each watt as I've heard this is a more reliable way of going about things. I took %'s for to see what the differences are:

9:2:1- 75% red
7:2:1- 68.75% red
5:2:1- 62.5% red

Thinkin I might go right in between with the 7:2:1, May even go 8:3:1 with two WW and one NW to kind've balance the lack of blue

8:3:1-67% red, 25% white, 8% blue

This is designs for a flower panel, Im not really wanting to overdo it on the blue's, enough to make em happy happy happy.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Ill keep posting links I stumble onto to help every body!
I had posted this a while back in another thread, I just would enjoy some input and see if I am on the right track for a flowering panel? And I have read somewhere that there is a program out that you can design led array's with- what's this called?

Also really thinking about a super veg panel... but dont have any clue on ratio's for the blues and the new assortment of white's out these days...

Clones roots are pretty thick, pics with the next update, but i will probably dose them with some CalMag and maybe some grow tomorrow- though no sign of def, Im thinking they could take 150-250ppm no problem.

Tangerine Dream is up right under 18", bouncing back nicely- firing back up some LST since the side branches are propping back up. Much much happier plant.

Though my fucking ph is dropping again. I am pretty sure it's starting to occur in my SLH res too. Thinking it's because they are in 5 gallon totes with a little less than 12 liters of water.. really need to look into building a "mother specific" cabinet, but narnia's a bit tight as is. May see a DIY undercabinet set up in my future..
