Hi Everyone! We have just recently come back from a long sabbatical from our first hydro grow (https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-time-grow-ak47-whatchu-think-tips.489059/page-2#post-6677430) and are now in day 85 of veg with our Scott's OG as a purely organic grow.
During the sabbatical, we've been doing other gardening and urban farming and have firmly decided that organic is the way to go for us, especially with the knowledge of benefits of microbes and mycorrhizae in soils. We opportunely came upon a good seed from a high quality strain and thought we would take a chance - and she germinated!
She's sitting in our spare room closet with:
- 600 watt hps light fixture
- soil composition/soil ammendments: vermicompost, rich with organic matter, rich with humus, soft rock phosphates, bio-innoculents, blood meal, kelp meal, cotton seed meal, perlite, coco coir, peat moss, ocean minerals
- 16 hours on/ 8 hours off light cycle
We are currently filling out her scrog and are planning to flip her to flower/bloom in about a week or two. We aren't in any rush and are just looking to take our time in her filling out. We are considering getting a UV light for her flowering. We will also be putting it on a cycle of 30 minutes 'on', twice a day.
We will have to make a few adjustments to the closet space once we do to ensure that it is light proof and odor proof. Our first grow had a great yield and it seems that this grow is already ahead in terms of progress, so we are looking forward to a bountiful harvest!
