Screw the Grow Tubs, Try A Grow Drawer!

So the other day, I picked up these stacking drawers for 12.99 because I figured I could use the area more efficiently using stacking drawers. Pretty sure I was right!

This, my friends, is a self contained drawer with filtered air intake AND exhaust powered by 12v computer fans.

What you will need:

Stacking Drawers
1x Computer Power Supply
2x 12v Computer fans PER drawer
1/8th inch bolts w/ nuts
Tyvek
An Electric Drill
3/4" Hole Maker thingy for drill
1/8" drill bit
1/16" drill bit
Extra Wiring (I bought 25' and was left over with a good bit)
Electrical Tape

Optional (these make for an easier time with cords in the end):
LP4 Splitter
TX3/LP4 Adapter

3 Drawers, stacked

Originally I was going to use an LP4 wall outlet adapter, problem was, the thing didn't fucking work. Pictured is; 2x LP4/PX3 Adapters, LP4 Adapter and wiring

In each drawer, I drilled 4 air vent holes and two holes for bolts (catty corner securing the fans)

I made 8x 2 ft extensions for the LP4 Splitter, This made each side of the splitter 2.5 feet in length. If you have a soldering iron, you might want to use it THEN tape it together. I lost my iron =(.

Here is the finished LP4 splitter.

This is my power supply I'm using, taking a small piece of wire, stripping about 1/8" of wiring and connecting the GREEN and a BLACK wire will keep the power supply on constantly.

And finally, I drilled small 1/16" holes right along the top of the drawer and used needle and thread to secure the tyvek to the top. This drawer is now a slatted bulk grow tub! Once the drawer fully colonizes, I'll remove the frontal section of thread, remove the slats, re thread and start the fans!

slight changes to this; replacing tyvek tops with glad press'n'seal to help keep humidity up

I wouldn't keep the fans running 24/7. Maybe set them on a timer to do 5 minutes on, every 6 hours or so? Too much FAE can become a problem, the RH will be hard to maintain at 95-99%. Really like the originality. Also, what do you mean by switching the tyvek with glad pressnseal? Care to elaborate?

Actually, just started doing that today. turning the fans on for a few minutes every few hours.

This is glad Press'N'Seal. This stuff is amazing. It's sticky on one side and matted on the other. Keeps a nice seal on the top and moisture in.
