So I want to scrog outdoors and ive seen it done, but i simply cant find one thread or google search that explains exactly what you have to do. I get putting a screen over the plant, but do you just let nature do its thing then? or do you have to push the individual branches through certain holes once it gets the height?

yep, it does works. There's a topic somewhere on this forum with pictures and what not.
instead of lying the pot on it's side I would recommend slowly (over a period of a few days/weeks) start to bend the main stem so it touches the soil and tie it down and as the plant continues to grow keep tying it down as well as its leaves. This way the roots will grow properly and the soil will stay in the pot. you should get multiple colas as well as large stem buds seeing as they are more exposed to light. good luck!
