Scrog - how to water/get to plants in back????

Ya I've seen it a million times but never got away with just doing what works good for me. But I'm def up for tryin new things if it's better than my way.how does it work? 5 gallon bucket with tubing running to each plant? Is it pumped out?does it save on nutrient? I'm curious now.

Mine is using Dutch buckets, but 5 gallon buckets work. Many people use 2 liter soda bottles. the Dutch buckets are what the hempy buckets were modeled after. The main dif is the dutch buckets leave about an inch of water in the bottom, this helps if you lose power. My buckets just drain back to the res for a recirculating system. They can also drain to waste. You do have to change the water or add water/nutes every 3-7 days depending on ph, ppm, and water intake of the plants. I don’t add nutes more than twice before changing everything out. The medium is 50/50 coco perlite. And the water is pumped to each plant using standard drip tubing and emitters. I don’t know if it saves much on nutes, I think it works out using about the same.

I came to roll it up today to look for watering techniques in tight spaces. And LOOK this old thread was as the top. Awesome.


I just installed a drip system in my garden. They recommend using just 1/4 micro valves or just 1/4 inch tubing for no pressure rain barrel systems with dirty water. I have lots of those parts left over. I was thinking of installing the tubing, like 4 to each plant and running them up to a gallon jug of some type. Then I could simply pour my water, including mixed with nutes into the jug and like magic it just runs into the plants at a somewhat controlled speed. I'm not concerned about timing, etc. Just want to get water in there for a good soak every now and again with out unzipping the tent and playing reach around.

As i mentioned, I have the parts leftover but for a visual here is there link..

Lol oh ya over 10 yr old post.. watering never gets old. Hahathats exactly how I felt the other day when I came to rollitup and asked what's a good way to water in tight space.
