Scrog

scrog is just groing under a screen, making one plant fill out a lot of vertical space for an even canopy, so for that it doesn't matter, clone or seed the plant will fill up the space if you veg it long enough.

with a sog (sea of green) you are growing several plants to take up the space, so clones are reccomended because if you use seeds you will get varied plant sizes and the canopy will be difficult to maintain. lots of people use autos in a sog setup but i've never messed with autos myself.

I might add that with scrog, if you're using more than one plant, you want clones because if you get well into veg with multiple plants and some turn out to be males, it's more difficult to cull them as they've gotten integrated with the females in filling the screen.

Or take a cut off your seedling once it is at the stage to where a cut wont hurt the plant, but before you start working them into the

screen. Flower the clone and wait. If they are males cull them out if they are females continue with your scrog.
