Scroggy's 2012 garden

i'll bring potted seedlings in, and cover basil with old windows. the vertical bed is on its own. some plastic sheeting, and plastic bottles filled with water, and i'll do what i can. i like pushing the weather envelope. adds some excitement to gardening. i've had tomatoes, under buckets, under snow. i really want to start a food and medicine forest, like in that Aussie's vid. permaculture is where we all belong.

it was cold as a witch's tit, Dan. my thermal mass saved me. my South-facing wall gives off heat all night long. i'll post more pics this week. another run for free compost is in order. i need to fill some more coffee sacks.

thanx, btw, for the compliment. i try. i truly believe in permaculture, full ethno-botanical freedom, and the end of fossil fuels. we should have clubbed the guy who invented the wheel, to death. 10,000 years later.........look where we are at. Sarin gas, smog, and pink slime meat. we will all be hunting with spears again, in the ruins of this nightmare, in another 1000 years.
I like your philosophy.. I try to be as self sufficient as possible, drive my little civic as little as possible, and to recycle everything i use . Perhaps I will become a kiwi myself.
My dream is to grow whatever I want, whenever I want, for whatever reason I want. Oh to be free to grow anything... I feel like I walk around with this dirty secret, the one I can't tell anyone but my wife. It's ridiculous.

my missus is a stoner. and she wishes to flee society, also.

Enjoy that.. My wife says she doesn't smoke because she "grew out of it".
How about that for a loaded statement...
We just agreed to disagree. She's cool like that.

001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg005.jpg006.jpghops doin' what hops do best, peas and lettuce, kale, thermal mass coke bottles, poor poppy showing......re-seeded bed with last of seeds, more coffee sacks. the vertical bed needs some re-working with more burlap. as a prototype its not totally disappointing is the best i can say. should have added smaller holed wire fencing into fencing-burlap component. live and learn. i'll rig it for this season.

berber tent.jpgpanels.jpgsimplify.jpgthe Sultan's hookah tent of pleasure, some privacy panels we made, and word to live by. been cool and rainy; not much progress with garden. although i did brew up a tea and feed. i like feeding on rainy days. some kale big enough for pan, but i'll wait.

very nice! i love how your panels spruce up that [alleyway?]

killed ALL my poppies last year -- found out the hard way they DO NOT LIKE to be transplanted. oops.

Don't know for sure now, but....you used to be able to get "bulk" poppy seed from the spice rack. A few $'s for a bottle of seed. It's measure in milligrams, if you get the flower seed packs.

you can get them in seed catalogs too. these were given to me by a guerrilla. i have about 15 showing. a couple nights of debauchery. no mello......they do not like to be transplanted. i have some Orange Kush seeds that germed, much to my surprise, and they will be LST'd in pots out back, and flowered in the Scrog-Cave.

that [alleyway?]

municipal "tot-lot"....lol. we call it the pot lot. the hoodies smoke their blunts in there. a junkie couple spent the summer in there........oh man......the people around here. soon off to the country. Upstate South Carolina
