There is a very wide variety of nutrients out there, most of them are just gimmicks in fancy bottles to steal your money. I like the Advanced Nutrients 4 part system (Grow-Micro-Bloom-Bud Candy) it's very easy to use and if you stick to the recommended schedule they will never burn your plants. Some growers prefer the organic approach but it is high maintenance and organic nutes like guano have a shorter shelf life. Do you plan on growing in soil or hydro?

Keep digging on RIU. The information is out there. As I say with all PPM questions, it is strain dependent, depends on plant condition, plant size, environment, etc. It really is a case by case scenario as to how much to feed your plants.

feed, water, water in soil
feed, water, feed, water in coco
feed with nutrient solution all the time in hydro

after that you can read the bottles at a grow store or ask the clerk if they have a feeding chart you could have.

research, research, research... knowledge is power

If you are in Denver , stop by one of the many hydro shops in our state and ask a few questions. They will be glad to be of help.

I recommend keeping it simple. Make yourself a batch of super soil and let it sit for 6-8 weeks.

Meanwhile mix up 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 perlite, and 1/3 compost or earthworm castings and add 3 cups per cubic foot of Espoma Plant Tone, and start your seeds in that. Let them grow, transplanting them up to larger and larger pots. Just about the time when it is ready to go into its final pot, put your super soil in the bottom half of the pot, then top with your mix of peat /perlite /castings and put your plant in. All you do is add water when needed throughout the grow.

what medium are you growing in? earth or hydro? (coco is hydro, but ive seen people treat it more like dirt, especially when there is peat moss mixed in)

for soil, i start my soil by mixing it with compost. then i dont feed until flower. during flower, i feed with a 1-1-2 feed.

you can feed once during veg if youd like, with a 1-1-1 feed or a 2-2-1 feed, as long as you started your soil with something. if you didnt mix anything with your soil, you should probably feed twice in veg. once at 2 weeks, and once at 4 weeks.

hydro i know nothing about. i do know you need to keep the ppm constant, BUT i plan to get coco with peat moss in it so i can treat it like soil.

Less is more. It can be difficult (yet far from impossible) to reverse an over application of fertilizer. It's easy to tweak it up a but a mess to try to reverse an overapplication of nutes, and your plants will never quite recover. OK, maybe never is too harsh but you are going to pay for it in some weight. As long as you have a solid green color you are on track.

Aww beat yer meat, you just hurt my feelings. I just live for you to rep me. Might have drifted into jerkdom back in "How much longer" thread but you kind of set yourself up for failure on that one and I piled on. Anyway if being truthful is being a jerk, guilty as charged.

Why are you offering advice? You have no idea what you are doing with your current grow and you feel qualified to dole out advice. Why?

for soil, i start my soil by mixing it with compost. then i dont feed until flower. during flower, i feed with a 1-1-2 feed.
Is that what you plan on doing?

How is your first grow going? If I remember correctly that plant didn't look like marijuana at all. are you ready to "harvest" that gram of brown leaves yet?

hydro i know nothing about. i do know you need to keep the ppm constant, BUT i plan to get coco with peat moss in it so i can treat it like soil.
You will fail if you treat that mix like soil. If you had anything resembling a brain, you would get a few successful soil grows before you change to coco. Also, you should not be giving people advice since you suck at growing.

If you are in Denver , stop by one of the many hydro shops in our state and ask a few questions. They will be glad to be of help.
That would be hit or miss, just like this and other weed sites. I had a guy in a hydro shop tell me that feminized seeds produce males and hermaphrodites.

yes, i plan to only feed bloom nutes, becuase my babies are still a nice green color with no extra food 3 weeks in.

why cant i treat coco that way? i cant make "super coco"? i plan on buying pure coco and mixing it with some stuff. i will still need to feed a lot? how come?

Don't ask questions here and jack the thread.

Mother of GOD!!!!!! Your still giving advice after that many warnings? You don't know how to grow dude, it's the truth and it seems like it's going to take you ALOT longer than most other people IMO Your advice sucks and is wrong, do not be telling people this crap. Maybe prove you can grow a plant that resembles ganja first but even then your head is just full of twisted ideas about growing, truth be told.

Thought there would be a thread on stepping up your nutes, till your plants tell you that you've gone to far. Basically no matter what brand of nutes you start with, start at 1/4 the dosage, then step up to 1/2 the next feeding and so on. How often you feed depends on your medium. Listen to your plants, they will show telltale signs of under or over fertilization. Peace!!

Thanks for the info guys (whats a conversation without an argument right? lol) sorry i forgot to put my medium in, im growing in soil. and dont wanna burn my plants thats why i dont want to use any nutes till i figure it out better
