Searchin for fire in some old school cool

Sorry for the absence @MissinThe90’sStrains
I opend my mouth and put my foot in it a couple weeks back in a political thread. I put up a meme of Michelle Obama and got myself banned. Formerly greengenez421, now woedae.
Just wanted to touch base again.

The plants are looking great BTW! Seedlings look quite healthy and vigorous despite the cooler temps. But you've obviously got some good healthy soil and quality genetics If your abiotic stressors aren't impacting them negatively.

Well, we’re back in the saddle again. It’s been a busy last few weeks - we’ve had a bit of a bummer, a new start, and a bit of a pleasant surprise. Sometimes that’s just how it goes in the garden.

So….. those Inkognyto fems……. The 2 pics below are the 2 Blueberry O.G. - they’re both definitely boys. Disappointing for a 5 pack. I would have popped the whole pack if I knew they were regs, and planned to make f2s to hunt. I’m not in a position to collect pollen right now, and I don't do it unless I’ve already smoked a female or 2. The 2 Mamba fems were several weeks behind and stunted badly. The 2 Kona Sunset x Ohio Deathstar had some funky variegation and patterning on the leaves that made me nervous about possible viruses. All these plants had the exact same batch of soil that I used in my last 2 runs, so I know the soil mix was ok. I killed all 6 of those plants and were just gonna fuckin move on :-(.

I put 2 Frankenstein S1’s and 2 Tony Greens GG#4 R.I.L fems into paper towels yesterday. This is the first time I opened a Tony Green pack, and wow was that pack hooked up ! My 7 pack had 2 seed vials inside, completely full - I think I counted 26 seeds maybe more? We’ll be sniffin glue for a decade or more lol.

I transplanted and flipped the 2 Nevilles G13 x Headband clones in 1 gal pots right before RIU went down. They got transplanted to 3 gal pots last Sunday and are adjusting ok. This puts them at just over 3 weeks? This isn’t a prime smoke run, but I want to see what size container I can get away with to pheno hunt and flower out new stuff without committing to my normal 15 gal pot runs for smoke. The 2 phenos are very different from each other, and just starting to throw some frost. The next few weeks will show more, but I really like the vigor from the branchy pheno, and it’s also less finicky overall.

ACE CBD #1 Fem is looking good but is a bit of a hog for magnesium (2nd last pic). Every time I hunt a new REG pack and collect pollen to make F2s, I’m gonna hit this clone with a dad to make some 1:1 seeds. I hope to make hash and medical edibles with this plant. This is my first time playing with anything CBD.

Last pic - it’s time to start pepper seeds for the outside garden. Definitely some day-ruining heaters in there. Tent will be crowded until May, but the jars are full and we’re in no rush. I’ve got some extra cuts so I might flower out the “old” saints crossing mom, and see what she does under her own designated 250 watt light panel.

What’s this? These seeds on the first pic don’t look smokeable ?! Pepper seeds are popped and transplanted. Extra plants are in the seedling domes, in case I want doubles or need backups due to transplant shock.

ACE CBD #1 mom also got transplanted yesterday, and the first cutting from it rooted and was transplanted to a solo cup.

The 2 Neville‘s G13 x Headband are cruising along. Smells are mildly fruity and sweet but nondescript so far - not smelling any G13 in there, and haven’t smoked headband, so who knows. The phenos are very different, each one likely taking after a different parent. They are doing well in 3 gallon pots after flipping them as cuts in 1 gallon pots, so this could be huge for me in terms of pheno hunting going forward

I must have drowned one of the gg4 ril :-( but luckily I have 20+ more.

The basement is cold, the tent is at about 70*F. I hate winter.

ACE CBD #1 fem was transplanted and moved to the flower tent yesterday in half “soil mix A” and half “the same soil mix from last run“ and given a 15 gal pot to stretch her arms and legs.

Nevilles G13 x Headband are at day 35 I think. Smell on the more sativa dom pheno in front is a bit lemony/citrus, some sweet berry and some other developing complexities. The more indica looking one in back has a bit of an earthy chocolate smell, and some fruity sweetness. It reminds me of dark chocolate, the way it has the fruity undertones.

Moms need some cleaning up and maintenance pruning again. I’ve got an extra Saints Crossing and MTF cut, so one of those bigger moms might get transplanted, stripped, and flowered out this week.

The pathetic little thing on the bottom right is something I don’t really want to grow to smoke, but don’t want to kill. It’s an OG type, and some of the strongest weed I’ve had in a while, but doesn’t really have medical benefit to it, it just sits your ass down and spins your head around. I made F2’s and hope to cross it with some stuff one day or maybe try to do a BX. She’s stinky as fuck, sour and chemmy, and powerful. GooeyBreeder Kings Banner x Old 70’s indica. I’m gonna transplant her and see if she perks up. She hates to be watered, hates being rootbound, doesn’t like a ton of light, and doesn’t like much nitrogen until start of flower, where she triples in size and gets almost vine-like. Runs for 63 days and will throw a couple bananas at the end if you take her too long. Pain in the ass plant, but really strong weed.

Sounds a lil finicky but worth it bud

Little bit of stripping and bondage done and……. Saints Crossing mom is in the flower tent. By the time the little plants are done, the next vegging seedlings should be ready to test flower.

Quick update - flower tent cruisin along, veg tent raising babies, teens and everything in between. Tomatoes were started yesterday for the outside garden. The GG4 and Frankensteins will go into 1 gal pots in a few days, and remain there until I can take a cut or 2.

Peppers will get transplanted in a couple weeks, still growin slow. Soil is a bit hot and compact for them, because I was too lazy and cheap to get new seed starting mix and just used old unamended soil for them. They’ll manage.

Flower tent is at day 6 for the 2 larger plants in back and day 41 for the 2 shorty testers. Pics of the 2 shorties, just starting to show some character.

I’m already thinking of the next project, and looking through my collection of old school classics.

Some notables I’m considering resurrecting….
NL#1, 95’ Black Domina, Black Domina IBX, BOG Bubble, BOG Sour Lifesaver, Sensi Star, Starfighter IBL, Blue V2, 88g13xNL2 IBL

Shorty g13/HB pheno is finishing up quickly, throwin a lot of reds and swellin up.

Stretchy pheno is in no rush, but added some nice mass and frost this week (pic of lower). Neither has been fed since transplant.

Flower tent doin well, and temps are nicer with both lights running and a fuller tent. Veg tent is still doin well, and I’m amazed I’m keeping these plants alive for so long in my old organic soil, with just a spoonful of chickenshit, kelp, and alfalfa every now and then. Tomato seeds just popped. Peppers are chuggin along but slowly.

GG4 and the 2 Frankensteins got new shoes - 1 gal pots. ACE CBD #1 clone is in the little solo cup, topped itself and is stretching her lowers. The back left vegging plant is that old KbxOld 70’s indica plant I transplanted to save last week. She’s perking up but still sensitive to my hot soil. Once the new growth fixes itself, I’ll clone her again and get back on track.

Cuts taken to refresh 3 plants - Kings Banner x Old 70s indica, Grape Bubba (deserves another run), and the Nevil’s G13 x Headband.

The Nevil's G13 x Headband sativa pheno checks all the boxes in terms of growth. It branches well, stretches enough to be easily trained, is not picky with my soil mix or grow methods, has nice terps, it produces big frosty buds, and I haven’t seen any bananas or ball sacs, even though I did not lollipop either pheno.

The indica pheno is mildly fruity and has some dumpster funk to it, almost like rotting melon. It’s a mild smell though, and the trichomes are very sandy and brittle. This one is like an old school hashplant variety. If it blows me away, I’ll reveg it. Definitely a fast finisher though, she’s almost done.

MTF and Saints Crossing got cuts taken today. I gave some stash to my brother in law and my family, so it’s time to start filling jars again.

MTF transplanted to 3 gallon pot (soil mix A) and given some LST, and got tied down with some string. It will take the place of the first Nevil’s G13xHeadband in the flower tent, flipped and transplanted to a 15 gallon pot eventually. I found a little MTF I thought I killed a couple weeks ago, still hanging on in its 1 gallon, moved back to the veg tent as a backup.

I’m getting antsy to pop some new seeds, but peppers and tomatoes are taking over my space.

I really like these simple 3 gallon nursery pots. They transplant well into 15 gallon smart pots, and are big enough to keep soil plants happy for a while. I need to get some more.

Everyone got a shot of growth hormones and beneficial bacteria today, via powdered coconut water and some fish aquarium water.

Seedlings are getting ready to be flowered - the 2 Frankenstein fems are in front and the Tony Green’s GG4 RIL fem with the super wide leaves is in the back.

The little MTF is taking to the training well, but still wants to grow into a giant ball shape.

Flower room is progressing. ACD CBD is finally starting to flower. Saints Crossing has recovered well and has a nice canopy shape - not even but nice enough for how she started :-).

The indica headband cross is finishing, still not very loud. The more sativa dom one might be a little hungry, and might also want less light as she nears the home stretch. The top leaves are fading a bit and yellowing and showing hints of purple, and the bottom leaves look better. I think she may want some phosphorus after stacking such large buds for a small pot. Not a perfect first run for her, but enough to show me that she’s worth another run.

I love it when the first signs of frost start to show up early (Saints Crossing). Not much else to update today. This weekend will bring probably some changes and work.
