Kelp meal is commonly available at feed stores, nurseries and other retail outlets. Normally used as a soil conditioner, its best mixed into a grow medium designed to provide plant nutrients throughout the plant life cycle. It's also an important ingredient of AACT brew applications.i have read that using seaweed is a good source as nutrients? i just bought a pack of dries seaweeds from the korean grocery whats the process in dong so?

this is just an uneducated guess from an inexperience grower but perhaps seaweed form the beach would contain high ammounts of salt, and also get ph problems. but maybe wait for a more experienced grower to answer itanyone got advice on using fresh seaweed? i live by the sea and it would be so easy to collect
i diddnt get the fresh ones LOL, i even tasted the seaweed if its salty. i got the dried seaweed and when soaked it will turn to sheets of slimy seaweed the one u get if you order a seaweed soup in a chinese or korean restoanyone got advice on using fresh seaweed? i live by the sea and it would be so easy to collect
kelp doesnt have salt in it beleve it or not. get some kelp strait outa the sea grind it, make a tea and whooola !!!. that is how seasol does it. SEASOL IS THE BEST ORGANIC NUTES WITH ALL THE NPK AND TRACE ELEMENTS YOU NEED !!!!soak it to remove salt put in blender, use it with compost teas
"You can apply fresh kelp directly to the soil (some people suggest rinsing it to remove the sea salt, but for the past 20 years I've never found it necessary). Arrange it as a 2 to 4-inch mulch layer or include it in the compost pile. Seaweed decays quickly because it contains little cellulose. What's nice too, is that you don't introduce weed seeds with seaweed mulch.anyone got advice on using fresh seaweed? i live by the sea and it would be so easy to collect
Its not the absorption of salt, just the little cracks and corners that I think may need a little extra rinse. It's an old chef trick that I can't stop using...former life..kelp does not absorb salt !!!! just wash the outside
