Second Grow! Got Skywalker OG and Grape Ape so far!

So this will be my second attempt at growing. My first attempt got fucked up right at the end thanks to a faulty timer that fucked everything up while i was away at vegas >_<.

Anyways, im back again to try this again.

Ive got Skywalker and Grape Ape clones and im planning on getting more tomorrow. Might pick up an interesting strain i saw called white fire (Fire OG x White Widow)

My plan is to get about 3 more clones (different strains) and grow all these clones into mothers, and keep the strongest and flower the weakest. Do this until I have 5 I want to keep as mothers and continue to clone.

I want to have 5 really strong and stable mothers and clone from those mothers

With the clones I get off of these mothers, once they are rooted I will be running them in 2 Liter hempy buckets under a 400W HPS.
I plan on having 25 clones flowering at once under the 400w hps



So all in all, so far I have the Skywalker and Grape Ape clones under Cfl's for now (I have 8 24w cfl's over the top of them, about 4-6 inches away)
They look pretty good so far and they just went into their new homes.

Quick question to ask you guys. Do you think 73 degrees is too cold for these little girls? or do you think it will be ok? Its getting pretty cold during the night in my tent, as low as 63 sometimes. Whats the lowest temp I should ever have inside my tent?

Sounds perfect, but I'm no temperature expert. It is a weed after all .

Im just turning into a worry-freak because my last grow ended up terrible.. not because of temps but I just dont want anything to go wrong with these clones. Especially since I might make them mothers.

Anyone else have any insight about my temps?

Humidity stays between 42-50%.. never goes above 50%

Alright here we go with a weekly update. Think ill try to update every week this go around. Not much to speak of, the girls are just now starting to take off with some good growth after being transplanted. So ill go ahead and post some pics of that...

On a side note, Im also trying my hand in growing some herbs (next to my "herbs" hahah, im funny i know ). Starting off with cilantro and oregano. Two of the seeds have just started to poke their heads up out of the soil. We will see how that goes.

Just a quick update. I noticed last night that my humidity had dropped big time to 16%. Thinking it was a fluke I let it go for the night, I awoke today to find that it had stayed around 16% the whole night, only getting as high as 24%. So i went out tonight and got a humidifier from CVS, and its working like a charm. Humidity is up to 50% and holding. Temps are still in the 75f-80f range, usually stays in the middle at 77 or 78. Anyways, thats it for now. I'll probably put up a pic update tomorrow. The girls are starting to take off with some great growth. They look strong and healthy, and should be some great mothers to take clones from!

My plan is to build a little bubble cloner for the clones and then put them into hempy buckets once rooted. And flip them straight into flower.

But thats later in the equation, one step at a time!

Alright here we go with a picture update!

This is the very start of week 3, so they have had 2 full weeks in their new home since transplant. They have had some great growth. The Grape ape is growing alittle faster than the Skywalker but the Skywalker is recovering nice from being very tiny and not the healthiest clone. Both looking great now!

Still havent gotten my other clones yet. I plan on getting about 2-3 more to keep as mother plants along with these 2 ladies.
Not sure what strains im getting yet, but I'll find some soon.

NEW CLONE ADDED!

Just picked up a new lady to add to the bunch.

Its a chemdawg x afgoo clone. Im calling it chemgoo since it didnt have a real name from the dispensary (they just called it yo' mama lol)

Im still waiting to get a good clone of their white fire strain (white widow x fire og). They had one left this time but it looked very bad and weak.

Anyways, just wanted to update with that addition

Ill post some pics of the new lady a little bit later tonight

Temps and humidity are all in check. about 75f and 40-45% humidity right now with lights on. Lights are about 3-5 inches above the tops and around the sides.

Grow is a little boring right now, but the good stuff will come eventually! Ill have a perpetual system going wit hempy buckets once these mothers get big enough to cut some clones off of!

Well folks couple of things to update on

The ladies have been growing pretty strong thus far. Got their weekly watering with second shot of veg nutes (fox Farms)

I just went out tonight and starting gathering my materials for my DIY bubble cloner.
So far I have:
Rubbermaid Roughneck plastic tub (10 gallons)
1 Air pump w/dual outlet (60 gallons)
1 -10in. air stone
1 - 12 in. air stone
1 - 25' of tubing

So all I need to do is decide on getting more 10" airstones or 12" airstones, ill see which runs the best with the setup I got and ill go get more of that size.

So it looks like ill have to buy one more air pump, and 3 more airstones and ill be set with the bubbles. Then ill cut the holes in the lid for the neoprene inserts and then us some spray-on rubber coating type spray to cover the base to no light goes through the base and then ill be ready to try my first round of cloning ever!

Ill make a step by step w/ pics for the setup I have once its complete.

Im have a weird problem with my skywalker, ive noticed a chunk of a leaf was missing, and the i saw another rip in another leaf. So far its just these two leaves, but What could this problem be stemming from? a bug munching on my lady or what? maybe the light burned it? (I highly doubt this because the CFL's stay close but never actually touch the plants). I checked all over my plants and the skywalker is the only one with this problem.

If anyone could give any kind of insight as to what could be the problem, that would be greatly appreciated!
I know my journal hasnt been getting that much love (probably because this is the boring part) but I really need some help on this one!

bumpity bump

Really? no one has any insight on my issue with my skywalker?

Well folks I just went ahead and cut my first batch of clones. They are now in my bubble-cloner and in darkness. Ill leave them there for about 3-4 hours of darkness and then ill put them on the same 20/4 schedule as the mothers.

In about 3-4 days after the mothers recover from shock of being cut, ill move them into their new permanent home in 3 gallon containers.

Just a side note, these mother plants are smelling skunky as hell already! Especially Skywalker, which i got 3 clones off of.

I only took 5 clones for this first attempt at cloning. I didn't want to overwhelm my self on this first attempt. So this is more of a test run. I have 3 skywalker, 1 chemgoo, and 1 grape ape.


Quick Question: Do I have to have a humidity dome? ive seen a lot of people with DIY bubble cloners not have one, or at least there wasnt one in their pics. Is it a necessity?

Anyways, Ill update as soon as I see some progress (or digress ) with the clones. Hopefully everything goes smoothly so I can continue with my SOG idea.
Ill be using this batch as my first attempt at cloning and hempy buckets, so I'm just going all out with new things this go around.

Update time! been over a month! GEEZ!

Well good news is that the bubblecloner is working well!

And i have just finish transplanted my second batch of clones! Going to put both the first and second batch into cloning soon.
They are all loving their new hempy bucket homes as well

I have been really shitty at updating this time around!

But you'll all be glad to know that i started flowering about a week ago, and we are into week 2 now.

The skywalker plants are all starting to smell really skunky already!

No huge development yet as we just started flowering

I decided to go ahead and flower everything in the room, as I will be moving at the end of June.

SO, ill have about 11 clones in hempy buckets, and the 2 giant mothers flowering at once.

Hopefully ill have good production from my 400w hps and 42w (actual) cfl's on the side.

I HAVE A QUICK WARNING FOR THOSE CONSIDERING HEMPY BUCKET METHOD: Make sure you give your plants plenty of nutes, as much as possible without burning, or else your NPK levels will not be high enough. Especially if you are using organic perlite & organic vermiculite like me. I learned this the hard way . ALSO, make sure you have a fan or some way way of increasing the stem strength of your plant while they're in the hempy bucket. Otherwise they have a tendency to lean far to one side or the other.

Ok, im done with my ranting and raving now.
