hi everyone, yes last grow was a disappointment to me as one of my girls turned Hermie aaaaaarrrrrghggghh. but i did manage to get some smokables 4 oz approx.

so now i have learned so much !!!! its almost worth doing that first one as a trial and dont think about what yield you will get cause you wont haha.

i have purchased a 250w duel spec hps ballast and bulb to cut down on veg costs.

I have 5 northern lights fems

all popped after 5 days

they are on 18/6 at the moment, now last time i just let them grow and hoped to lollipop them but i didnt and it all got out of control. this grow i am topping twice for 4 colas rather than 1, they are now at 4 weeks and i topped them yesterday, I will give them another week and top them again then veg for one more week then flower, for which i will use my beloved 600w hps.

i am using the same biobizz nutes as before, but for heavens sake when you are told quarter or half strength at first DO IT!!! so i have fed for first time at half strength and all is well here are pics to date.

notice i have doubled pot size as i cut the bottom off of one and turned over and taped to another i hope this will make them grow stronger, it seems to be working

I have grown NL twice and, although most lit says 8 weeks flower, I have had to go 11-12 weeks flower until harvest. Hang in there.

they look a little flaccid. they look like they got the TooMuch's. too much food or water. i use a SS mix with perlite and peat, so i feed very lightly. better hungry than full, and better dry than wet, i always say. i would say.........just water next time. they don't look like they need food. and let them dry out good. a nice, light pot. dark green, flaccid plants are on the edge of trouble, imo. i'm really high right now, but this is my thought.

i have only watered once in the last 2 weeks, i think i will leave the nutes and water when dry, its about a week between watering at the moment. i watered last thursday so will leave until at least this friday. i want those leaves pointing to the sky man. ps are you in uk, if so far too early for smoking you lucky bugger

If NL takes more than 9 weeks it was probably because it was stressed and stunted along the way. Mine is always 9 or less.

switch over day today, i will be installing an intake fan, the ducting will end right at the bottom of pots, so nice fresh air for them, will water as they need it, but still only with plain water no nutes, none needed

the thing i have learned from my first grow is that you fuss over these plants too much, if they look healthy dont feed them, i am sure after reading so much lit on the internet that i should have fed my girls 5 - 10 times already, well they look great and i dont need to feed i will wait until they actually need it. Patience is what you need and leave them alone and let them grow, btw they love the 600w they look like as happy as englishmen on sunbeds

so still no nutes, do i need to?, dont think so, they will go without for another week then i will introduce just the biobizz bloom at quarter strength and see what happens. i am so frightened of fucking them up by worrying over them too much, at least if nobody else comments ill have all my thoughts recorded
