Hey everyone, hope you had a good weekend. To recap,4x4ft AC Infinity #1 (amazon) was returned, HUUUGE tear in a seam.

Today i bought a second AC Infinity (#2) from grow shop 4x4ft, no giant tears this time. So i forged ahead & set up everything, including light.

Turned off all my lights & this bad boy is full of pinholes along the zipper & seams, all of the velcro vent ports leak & what i would call a small 'gash' on one side, about 2/3rd inch long that leaks light.

Do i need to worry about this? Am i destined to grow autos or whats up :wall:

That sucks. It will probably be fine though depending on how big the leaks are.

I ordered a fan and they sent me the 67 controller instead of the 69. When I told them they said I could buy the 69 for like $50. Let's just say I wasn't impressed with their customer service.

I just counted 50 or 60 light leaks along the seams & along the entire course of zipper. Is it normal to see so many stars when you turn your bedroom lights off ;-)

How big does a leak need to be to cause a prob come flower time? And yea about a dozen reviews on Amazon said don't bother contacting customer service

its pretty much a non issue. I've grown photos in a tent with all the ports opened (3x bottom rectangular ports and the side 150mm port, with lights on in the room constantly during dark cycle. No issues whatsoever. The diffuse light in your room is already weak enough, and filtered though tiny holes it wont do anything. The amount of photosynthetic flux entering through those holes will be immeasurable. There is way to much time and effort wasted worrying about light leaks this minor. Its unexpected, out of character light leaks that cause issues. I've even grown photos outside with street lights, entertainment lighting and motion lights on and off constantly with no issues, and that is far more intense than pinholes.

If your seeing that outside with a few hundred watts in the tent, the household lighting (a mere handful of watts) will be completely insignificant. It's not like you have high powered quantum board outside your tent, you have weak diffuse light from a household globe.

still terrible quality for the price though. My $60 tent has less light leaks than that by far.

You'll probably be fine. I wouldn't worry to much.

Ok good to know. But I do have a window in the room, with pull down shades that leaks sunlight on the edges in the AM. Should i look to tape those edges up during flower since i got a tent full o' holes :-)

Probably won't make a big difference. I wouldn't tape up the window, but I like to be able to open mine. I've got a new Mars tent with a bunch of light leaks like you're talking and so far my plants haven't hermied. I open my windows all the time to cool the room.

I'm actually considering venting outside w/ the ducting, blacking out the window & getting a portable AC unit. I turned that FC4800 on to 75% for a half hour to look for light leaks & wow does that thing heat up, when it hits 99F in summer, i would be cooking in this bedroom haha

Venting outside also lowers the RH. I haven't used my dehumidifier since I started exhausting some of the air outside.

Like others have said it's not the end of the world but I'd be pissed about the cash for sure. I've seen way less light leaks and zero tears with my cheapo tents and if I paid the premium I'd demand the right product with a tear free cover. I'm a grouchy bastard by nature though. Silver aluminum tape on the inside of the tent can cover the worst of the pinholes or just plain ol duct tape on the outside if you're not worried about appearance. Mine is 6 years old and has been repaired plenty without issue but my room is 100% light proof so pinholes aren't a concern for me. Sorry to hear Infinity has gone downhill with quality, their fans have been really good for me so far.

Man, that truly sucks. I was very happpy with their customer service, they hit it out of the park for me. The one bonus you can look forward too, is at least you got the 67 and not the old UNC529 controller. If you haven't used it yet, I think your going to be very pleased, the app is awesome, especially with data tracking, it will allow you to dial your tent/room to a tee. Things have come a long way since my last indoor grow, fans, lights, controllers, etc. have gained leaps and bounds, have to wait till September now to get in an indoor crop, as I've moved everything outside for the season.

If you can see it in a picture, it will affect the plants.

Fill them with caulking..

If it was a gorilla tent I would suggest matching gorilla tape, cuz you know..

Yea $179 v.s. other tents which are $100. And 2 tents in a row, from different suppliers. Pretty freaking crazy.

why is it so hard in todays time to get a good quality product that you pay for when all you really wanted was what they advertised and jazzed up to look like the ultimate. Maybe they should spend more money on some good help and better quality control instead of the consumer being left with chasing them down all most always by email many many times to get no where but if you want to purchase they are all over you like a bad suit. LMAO

There is a very informative video on You tube from Bruce Bugbee about how much light will disrupt the flower cycle of cannabis. To cut to the chase your average grow tent keeps it plenty dark pinholes and all. They are also doing a study about light causing hermaphrodites. The feeling is that it is more genetic than environmental but more study is warranted.

My tent is 5 years old.
I stand inside my tent with LEDs off and all lights on in the room and I can see light through holes and crevices.
Plants flower like champs.
Don't worry about it.
Plants don't need pitch black. Just dark.

Now as far as getting what you paid for ... that's up to you.
But your tent will still do what it's supposed to do.

Don't put caulk on a tent ever fam . omg.

Get some black gorilla tape and go over any seams with a strip of that.

Sometimes you have to use a wad of it to remove loose lint, then the second piece sticks well.

Also, remove the velcro vents and carefully put them back on as flat as possible before taping them,

They may just close well enough to leave them alone as is.

Small zipper light leaks won't cause problems but a beam of light could cause a branch to herm.

Ambient light is still light. Saying you can run in a lit room with vents wide open shows the person

experience, not a good way to do things. Start doing it right and have the best results.
