Im 18. Broke. No job as of now, im going to be rehired in about a month. i need to get out of the pops house, and enjoy my independence.

Anyone know there goverment shit? My mom has section 8 housing, dont know if that matters.

I want to know if i could qualify and if so how long would we be talking to get in the system.

Thanks much for any help, i just need to do something temporarily to get my shit back on track.

If you qualify for PH/S8 it can take awhile before placement.
I'm talking like 6 months to a yr.
The odds of you getting it are slim to none, because your able body, not state crazy, male without kids.
I'd look into governement/state run job placement centers.
You can file for welfare, but you wont get it because you live with your dad and they will base it off what he makes.
If you are a illegal immigrant with kids, you sir can live like a king.
Otherwise your kinda shit out of luck as far as the help you look for.

Like all governmental programs, you can't just fill out a form and get handed money. Section 8 Application - Apply Section 8 Housing - Section 8 Consolidation Program Application This is a good place to start. You are going to have to show proof of income (you are still responsible for 30 - 40%) and depending on what state you are on you could be drug tested for government assistance. I helped you, now you help me by getting off of the service as soon as you can afford it yourself, don't abuse the system. (I'm socially liberal but I have my limits)

damn damn damn damn damn. Shit. So it shouldnt matter if a parent has section 8 housing? Thats way to long, fuck that shit.

Alternative- Who wants to rent out a room to a knoledgable grower, grow caregiver, and grow teacher for around 300 a month?

So you are willing to pay for an 18 year old his own place just because he "needs to get out of the pops house". Guess what, I moved out at 18 also, into a house I now OWN with a job. I get so sick of hearing people's sob stories.

Section 8 was designed for low income "FAMILIES", that gives them a house to live in and they only have to pay 25% of the rent.

An 18 yr. old who is able to work and doesn't have any dependants to care for, hardly meets the profile for someone who actually needs section 8.

The best way to get back on track IS living at home with parents. You just gotta suck it up and play by their rules. Why dont you go get a job now instead of waiting a month for something that may not be guaranteed to happen anyway. I agree also, I have serious problems with my taxes paying for someone that is more than capable to work.
