Security For Your Grow

What kind of ways do you guys keep your grow safe? I thought a grow rip would be a nightmare scenario that was somewhat unlikely to happen - something to be vigilant of, of course, but not exactly probable.

A friend of mine takes pictures of grow ops for a weed magazine. She was saying that one of the ops she went to recently had been the victim of several attempted robberies. Now they have security up the ass, with numerous guard dogs and more. Crazy.

I know that there are security companies that offer you that connect their services directly to your mobile phone. You can be alerted whenever someone opens a door, or breaks a window, etc. You can even have cameras all over the site that you can monitor 24hrs a day from your mobile phone - imagine that! If your op is legal, like mine, you'd have no problem dispatching the police. That's the security setup that seems most appealing to me, but it's probably way out of my price range for a long time haha

Dogs are good, barking usually scares people away...Not because they're scared of the dog, but scared of the attention they call to the situation...Also visable cameras, so people see them and know they're being recorded...Maybe some stealth cameras too. With a 10 dollar webcam and a laptop with wireless, you can watch a grow op from your iPhone all day and night for free with various broadcasting sites.

Haha thats true. I'll probably set something like that up to start. No monthly fees or installation costs there.

True. But at least a few people will know in my case. The landlord, the electrician, possibly the HVAC guy. Possibly the people who designate me as thier grower.

1st thing don't talk about your grow.
2nd conceal the smell.
3rd get a dog....a real guard dog..not a lap dog.
4th Alarm system..programmed to contact you.
5th 12 gauge
6th dont talk about your grow
7th repeat 1 thru 6

you get a grow going and once it is ready sell some or all of it and buy decent security once you have the cash or end up like me.

i am in uk. my place got burgled. i had 66 ounce of barneys farm lsd in there, a 4 figure sum of cash, two new laptops, a mobile phone with buyers names on, a shitload of hydroponic equipment worth thousands.
never thought that some little squirt would be brave enough to go near it.
anyway there was only 28 plants in there it was the last of the crop that were on their last week and being flushed because they were a week behind (runts).
anyway when i got there the cops were everywhere, 2 vans 4 cars so i legged it thinking i would be doing a 2 stretch, i heard nothing after 2 days so i called the cops, they said they never busted it, they got called out to a break in, but wanted a little chat with me and i would be charged with cultivation of a class b and only placed on a court summary (max 6 months) instead of petition (max 5 years).
so i handed myself in after seeing my brief, the cops had nothing but the grow op, all plants, phone, laptops, skunk, everything gone, i said no comment to all questions and got a court date a few weeks ago, the day before it i got a letter from the prosecutor that all court proceedings were cancelled and so was police bail due to insufficient evidence but he would be keeping it on file for the moment in case of future developments in evidence.
so i had a lucky little escape.
if only i had got security, the whole fucking operation was running in to 5 figures in pound notes and i didnt even bother to get security. if i ever find out who did it i will rip the fucking jaw clean off them from ear to fucking ear, my new op has more security than buckingham fucking palace, which will keep my sherwood forrest safe.
get an alarm with mobile phone calling technology, live on-line cctv that records on an on-line server, (forget dogs you can shoot them with a crossbow, throw acid in their face, and rip them apart with a razor sharp meat cleaver) remember it wont be a little old lady who turns up to steal a big grow op. and a very fast motorbike to get you there.
and choose your weapon before you go.

also it is amazing how the law lets some people grow it in the usa and others not, and then say we are the best country in the world it is a bit like the old days when they persecuted the blacks and had white power seems like still living in the fucking stone age.
in uk you cannot grow it although you can get it on prescription as an oil that can be smoked, ingested or added to food as a herbal medicine.
that way there is no favouritism and it is usually only very ill or very old people that get it with health problems.

If you live on a farm like I do a few geese in the yard is a good first defense.

i have an idea who did it...... but i cannot prove it......YET.......but if i ever do, i will put a 5 figure hit on the fuckers head.
anyway to get to the point.....security is the first thing you set up when you get cash.

Why pay a security company to set all that stuff up for you. Check out the iPonic 600 or the AgrowTek GC-C or GC-Pro. Both of them will mmonitor your grow and send you alerts to your cellphone for certain things. You can even set cameras up and alarms on them. Need to know how to use a computer and setup a VPN. Plus you need a dedicated cheap laptop or desktop for the grow.
