This is my first time posting anywhere so hello fellow smokers/growers
Currently i am growing in my bedroom with a 300 watt LED
light (working great so far although im only in week 2), 32" x 32" x 63" tent, simple fans blowing air in and out - temps usually around 75F-85F and humidity of 35%. i have done my homework before starting my first grow i literally have pages of notes. Also while im not home i dont run my setup at all til i get back and usually im only gone for a few hours a day.
oh and im on the top floor of a 2 story normal apartment isk what its called..
anyways im wondering..

-are 2 plants too much of a risk due to odor ect?
-will my electric bill be increased a lot running 18/6?
-will i have an electric usage spike? (electric is not included with renting)
-should i put a lock on my door?
-do apartments do more inspections ect during the fall and winter?

At these apartments there's usually no inspections ect but all that can change you never know maybe im just a lil paranoid but i am growing safely.
A few weeks ago before i had my setup i noticed maintenance had came in and place my outside light bulb on my living room table for some odd reason without notifying me, AND it was a perfectly good working bulb i found it strange but i didn't notice anything different around my place. i even had my grinder out on my bedroom table.
i got notified that in a few days their doing a pest control so tomorrow morning ill have my setup disassembled and put away in a box and my plants hidden away in an ingenious way.
Oh and my tent is just chilln in my bedroom i wont fit in my closet. its not too big tho but good enough for i would say 3 plants if i wanted too.:leaf:

Shouldn't have any problems as long as you keep your stuff smell proof, as for smoke accessories ect they wouldnt trip over a bong... Where do you live?

i, PERSONALLY after dealing with apartment landlords/managers, would not grow unless i had the consent of said manager/landlord.

Just my two cents.

You are taking a chance no matter what, growing in a rented place. What can go wrong often will.

Make sure there is no odor, would be number 1 imo. That electricity use will be no problem at all.

OR find a small house for similar price for rent from a private party. They usually aren't as anal and sometimes they smoke. Rent could be VERY affordable.

My old man does security for apartments. As long as neighbors don't complain, there isn't a lot of traffic, and you keep to yourself, they won't go looking for anything and will leave you alone. You can buy a 1,000 hps because that just looks like a big tv, but any more would be risky IMO.

Security is very important. A break-in not only ruins your crop, but it gets the police to come visit and they might catch on either from the smell or your actions. Door chains and even heavy duty bolt style door locks (swing guards) or deadbolts aren't effective against kick ins. The frame around the door and the short screws that are typically used are weak points. However by adding Door jam reinforcement plates and Doornob guards the deadbolts and swing guards will be a lot more effective. Might need landowners permission, but they usually don't mind since its removable and descrete. For windows, you can buy shatter proof film but it's pricey. However it works great and you can't even tell its on. Think cell phone protector but bigger.

i haven't looked into the filters cuz i don't have anywhere to vent and i figured it wouldn't be a big deal with two plants

You can make them yourself actually. Pretty simple DIY videos everywhere. As for venting, if the filters are doing their job properly, you can vent into the apartment.

Get yourself an SMS motion detector inside the apartment, this way if the landlord visits illegally when you are out, your phone will let you know straight away.

"Careful" imo, is not growing in an apartment most of the time.
Exactly, you may be able to keep it smellproof throughout the grow, but how will you chop the plant down and trim it? Your whole apartment block will stink as soon as the plant leaves the tent.

that SMS detection system is a great idea and i didnt even think about the smell when trimming i guess ill figure something out prolly just do all that in a closet
