Seed germinated but won't sprout

Hi everyone!
You guys and girls have given me good advice before so I'm turning to you again. I'm on my 6th grow right now. I've been doing the exact same thing every time, and had wonderful results, so I figured if it ain't broke don't fix it ;) Here's what I do: I put the seed in a glass of water. Once I can see the taproot peek out I transfer the seed into a rapid rooter. I then immediately plant that rapid rooter in the final 5gal pot (I'm obviously very, very careful with watering so I don't overwater). Then usually within the next 48 hours I can see the little seedling pushing out of the soil.

I did the exact same thing with this latest grow. Put the seed in a glass of water. After about 36 hours I could see about 2mm of taproot stick out. I carefully transferred her in her rapid rooter and put that in the pot. And then nothing. After 4 days I got a bit worried, so I decided to take a little peek (pretty easy to do with the rapid rooter without touching/disturbing the seed at all). It was still a seed but the taproot had grown much longer (maybe around 10mm). So I figured, ok, she's just slow - that's fine. Well, it has now been 8 days. Still no sign of her. So I peeked again. And she looks exactly like she looked 4 days ago. Taproot has not grown anymore and looks like no effort to come out has been made at all. Now I'm worried there's something wrong or she might even have died. I have no idea what could have possibly caused this.

What do you guys think? Is there still hope? What could have gone wrong?

Sounds too wet
No reason for it to push to find light
Edit: for the record I only soak my seeds overnight for fear of drowning them

ive had 100% germination with this method. glass of water a little above room temp till you see tap root cracking through. then wet paper towel with the seeds placed in between layers. then it is placed into a tupperware container with lid on in a warm place. 4 days later you have tap roots 3 inch long and cotyledons. makes for nice fat stalk early on ive noticed.

Just use damp paper towels and forget the rapid rooters.
Put the seeds into damp paper towels inside of a plastic baggie. You should see the seed crack in a day or two. Then when the seed has cracked and the tap root shows a little, put it into some light seedling mix or something like, Fox Farms Happy Frog. I use a 3 or 4 inch square pot for seedlings. Then into a 1.7 - 2 gallon pot, then into a ten gallon fabric pot. Unless it's an auto. Then I would use the 3 or 4 inch pot and from there go straight to a ten gallon.

Rapid rooters work great for clones. Seeds IMHO should go into soil unless you are going to grow them in a hydro setting.

i'm also pretty new.. messed up my first batch with only a few out of 14 seeds survivings (fml). what exactly do you mean by placing them into a tupperware container with lid on in a warm place? do you mean placing the seeds in soil in this environment or something else? just asking if you could be more specific.

Once you put the seeds into your wet paper towel place the wet paper towel into a container and put the lid on so it is sealed. Then put the container somewhere warm. ( I put mine on to top of the refrigerator.) In about 4 days you should be ready to take them out and put into your soil. i bury mine till only the cotyledons are above the soil. make sure your soil has been atleast lightly watered before you put in your seedlings. works perfect for me. just be easy on the water at first. After its first set of real leaves start giving water and calmag.

i have heard some people say to start in smaller containers then tranfer. putting in big pot off top can shock it. had one die in a 3 gallon pot..i did the water papertowl into a plug. i usually do a cup at 1st then tranfer to build roots. played myself but i learned.

what they mean is start the seeds in a solo cup of soil and wait for it to fill the cup, then transplant into a larger plant pot, then to say a 3 gallon pot

i germ'd out 8 bruce banner auto seeds with the water cup/paper towel method and seedling strait into promix organic in 5 gal fabric pots. ive always heard its best to start in your main pot so you dont have the risk of shocking or stressing your plant repotting it. just make sure the seedlings are being put in pre watered medium and the taps are being handled carefully buried to the right depth up to the cotyledons. never had a problem. i think ppl have a problem knowing how much water and when to water.

ya auto be like that but had one die this grow but as far as female seeds think its better to do in a gallon or solo cup before putting in bigger pot.
