Seed Germination Issue

easiest way is to sow seed directly into the finishing pot. plant seed no more than 1/4 inch deep (i don't even sow that deep). make sure to plant in damp soil, not saturated. after germination, use a mist bottle to dampen the soil directly around the seedling as needed (don't over do it). much less handling using this method. works every time. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge gentlemen, I had them sitting in room temperature ~70 at my house. I will make sure to raise the temps on them a little. I just got home and threw up my lights (got them from HTG :) ) and then checked on the last 2 seeds. Looks like 1 of them is showing a tiny root, the other is still whole. I'm going to plant thee other in the AM.

I'm going to spend the $$ on a rapid rooter for my 2nd grow.

when i planted the initial 5 i poured about shot glasses worth of water around the seed (probably a bad idea). The soil was premoist and then i misted with a spray. They're in 3g pots now with roots organic soil. The water seems to dry up pretty fast, probably because I have 30k lumen t5s on at the moment.

I planted them around the same time yesterday, hopefully I see sprouts in the next 48 hours.

One more tip: instead of spraying the top layer (with the risk of doing it too often, too much or not (often) enough), use foil. Common practice here, usually done a little more neat than mine:

Also notice the diy cheap-ass dome (cookie package) I used on one (they were in spongpots).

This is a little earlier. About 48 hours after planting the seeds. So in the time it takes to (pre-)germinate the seeds in paper towels etc, I already have plants:

That is pretty sweet, I will have to make note of that in my grow journal.

An update, so I stored the last 2 seeds in a warmer part of my room and I couldn't help but take a peek.... both are now showing root. I'm going to leave them there over night and plant in the AM woot woot :)

That's 7/7 :)
