Seed not germinating HELPP!

I have 2 seeds in the germination process. One is green O matic and the other is afghan kush. I put them in a cup of water till they sank, and then put them on a tissue, sprayed the tissue with water, and then put in a airtight jar and checked up on them every couple hours. One of the seeds has shown a taproot, its not come out yet but you can see the white root. The other seed has cracked where the taproot should be, but no taproot, only darkness. Is this seed dead, or should I wait longer? What can I do to increase the rate at which this taproot will appear?

STOP! before doing anything, how long has it been germinating? Sounds to me you are just being impatient give it some time if they have cracked the tap root will follow.

you shouldnt be worried about it.
Sometimes the root doesnt pop up even after 2 days . that what happened to me , still i decided to put the seed in the soil and 2 days later a seedling was born XD

Be patient moonstar. Its hard to be patient waiting for this to happen. I started almost 3 days ago and the first one just popped out of the Riot cube. Bakatare, I am at 75 degrees without dome on, is that cool? Thanks.

I germed my NL beans a few weeks ago using the exact same method as you...Took 3 days before they cracked

Right kept them on the radiator for about 20min and the taproot is now visible just a little through the crack Things looking good. Wish me luck guys, and thanks for the help.
