What Dank said, I have had plants that produced one banana and then behaved normally and plants that just wanted to produce many bananas. Sometimes you can tell by looking at the "health" of the banana or the shape etc. A plant that is likely to produce more bananas will initially produce a pod that looks healthy and very much like what a true male would produce. A plant that is just throwing a couple will generally produce a feeble looking thin (non football shaped) pod. This is just my general rule from experience not set in stone by any means.
You should look over the whole plant. In my experience the weak/feeble pods generally develop right in the top buds and the more "true" hermies will develop pods at internodes and/or will be raised on small stems as well.
Just try to catch them early, check thoroughly every other day.
