Seed question.

So I've been using the paper towel method on my seeds. I checked on them today and while most of the seeds are just slightly beginning to sprout the tap root, there is one that has spouted its taproot but it is bigger than my index finger and has completely bust out of the seed casing and has this little head on the end. My question is, will this seed still be fine to plant?

Also additional question, approx. how long can a seed stay in the paper towel before it goes bad after it has sprouted its taproot?

My first grow btw, and I cant take a photo of it right now but will get one as soon as possible.

Update: I went ahead and planted it anyways and here is a picture of it for only being in the soil one day.

id just try to plant it so that you have about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch sticking out its worth a try

to be honest i dont quite understand what you are trying to say.....like are you wanting me to name my seed?

it should be fine.. i try not to let any of my taproots get much longer than say a 1/4 to a half inch or so personally.. as to how long they will live like that, i'm not sure exactly, but they should have enough stored food in the seed to support life for about a week or so i would think.. but if i were you, i would go ahead and plant the one that is showing the taproot and give the others a lil more time before planting them as well..

Thanks, im only starting small with six seeds but if they are successful (even if they all happen to be male by some chance) then I'll probably try to grow up from 12-15 seeds or so instead of 6.

zach, I was being funny. ( which fails most times ) Many people name their plants to help them keep track which is which. Especially in small grows from unknown quality seeds. You have one sprout thats impatient and on the attack! I thought Blitzen would be an appropiate name

oh, well uhhh yeah thats clever I guess......I've thought of naming my plants.....was going to wait until they were actually in the soil first.

damn.. i wish i had room for that many plants m8.. i'm lucky if i can squezze in maybe four biggies in my lil closet grow area.. right now i have one of dr greenthumbs og and two of his dopes in five gallon pots, and man is it ever cramped in there.. oh well.. more plants, more problems in my eyes.. not really, but i'm trying to make myself feel better..

well im growing outdoors, have some woods out behind my house and nobody lives around me so i found a spot with good sunlight and i cleared out the ground and put some organic potting soil around and mixed it in with some of the regular soil, and thats going to be final location these plants get moved to when they outgrow my pots. Im not quite sure what exactly im growing, I seen the plant it came off of and it looks a lot like white widow but i know that judging the strain by just looking at the looks of the plant isnt really all too accurate. So even if it isnt WW it will probably still be some good marijuana.
