Seed question

I've read 5 solid years under the rigth circumstance, cool dark place aka the fridge, but have also heard longer with the chances of having a hard time or a "retard" plant. After I recieved mine they were in paper towel that night waiting for germination. Some people say to freeze them before but I don't think it really matters if it does I would like to hear the logic behind it. anyway hope this helps

I was once told the logic of the freezer thing... Wasn't worth remembering because I buy fem seeds and people say the freezer gives you a better chance of female. As for age, I've had the same seeds for 14 months, not including how ever long the breeders had it (no idea) but I just places them in a little bag in a pill bottle, through it in a box in the garage, 14 months later, boom... Female plants in the yard

There are certain species of plants that there seeds will not germ,or have low germ ratio's if not introduced to freezing temps first.
This is a survival mechanism that prevents the germing of seeds before winter.A whole generation would be lost if all the seeds sprouted just before winter.
Far as I know,MJ does not need this.As for getting male/female ratios,I do not know, but nature has ways of perpetuating life.

Seeds can last for a decade or more with the right conditions, but germ ratios fall.

Moisture is an enemy for storing seeds.
