Seed soak solution?

i soak in plain water usually (if the seed stock is old or if i paid money for them i use a drop of seedbooster from plagron) and stopped using paper towels for environmental concerns so i’m using seed trays with peat and perlite in a tray with dome. works fine.
paper towels were just more accurate because i could see how many have popped and whatnot but yeah it is what it is.

My favorite seed soak is diluted h202, there are quite a few studies on the topic, but the short version is it helps break down the seed coat and acts as a signaling molecule to prime the seed for germination leading to increased germination rates and greater seedling vigor. It also kills the bacteria the seed may have picked up on its journey. Makes a huge difference in older seeds, but fresh seed stock doesn't need any soak. Thank ya / yea not in love with the paper towel method either an wanna ditch it. I’ve hear adding a drop or two of peroxide can benefit by reducing chances of microbe-related germination issues ( I love microbes tho, do t get me wrong!!)
Use Root Riot plugs and skip all of that nonsense.
I am tempted… I might give that a shot

Soil. Why soak then place in media
I hear that. It’s exactly what I did in my last run - dry seed straight into my 15 gals - the trouble was that with living soil you can lose track of those seeds pretty quick, even with markers. Or I’m a dumbass. Either or both is true.

Imo the energy spent watching a taproot grow in a napkin was meant to push seedling to surface and i think why alot of new guys make posts about digging for their beans besides burying 3 in deep
I agree with ya there. That’s why I want to do a seed soak (in a perfect world; I’d have some OHN but no dice atm) then straight into the soil to pop. I think you might as well take advantage of that initial seed vigor by having it happen in the soil where the seed can orient, etc.

Straight to soil. If they're older seeds sometimes I might soak them in a shot glass of tap water for a few hours. I don't like fiddling around unnecessarily with stuff. I get damn near 100% germination. Those that don't germinate weren't viable seeds to begin with and no amount of paper towels, holy water, voodoo dances, etc... is going to get them to pop.

It's a seed. Plant it.
