Seed storage questions

Title says it all. I would like to know how long can seeds be stored after you have ordered and received them? What are the optimum conditions to store them in? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to order my seeds and have them get messed up before I am ready to let them roll.

store them like you would store your stash. Cool dark place. I have a small altoids tin I use for seeds. I put them in close the lid and place in a dresser or cabinet. I guess you could place them in a ziploc, envelope, medicine bottle, pretty much anything. Just keep them out of direct sunlight and dry. Peace.

yeah.. i agree with keeping them in a cool dry place with no direct sunlight.. you can also add in a couple of silicon packs to suck up anykind of moisture.. take out the silicon packs every month or so, and replace with a new one.. let the old ones dry out for a couple of days, or a month, and just keep changing them out with each other..
seeds can last a very, very long time and still be viable aslong as you do everything right.. i have heard that a fridge isn't the best thing as it may add some moisture to your beans, but i would think that there must be a good tip for storing seeds in the fridge without the moisture getting in with the seeds..
