Seedbanks should sell pollen.

I don't know the legalities of marijuana pollen in countries where seeds are legal. I assume it's illegal in the USA the same way seeds are. If pollen is legal in seed selling countries, I think they should sell pollen as well as seeds. I know a lot of people clone, but for those that want to produce their own seeds, being able to buy pollen would save a lot of hassle.

You wouldn't have to worry about trying to isolate males and collecting pollen ever again. They've done it for you. I guess you lose the luxury of choosing the male, but the breeder already did that for you. They picked the best one and here you go. I guess they don't want to make it too easy for you to reproduce their product, but it's something a lot of people are going to do anyway. Why not make profit from it?

What I mean is, they could sell you just the seeds as they do now. You do the work of collecting the pollen and make seeds. OR, they can sell you seeds AND pollen and you do the exact same thing. You lose the hassle, they make money. Simple.

As far as I know, if stored right, pollen can last years. Maybe not as long as seeds, but a long time never the less.

What do you think?

finding a good male is the most difficult part of breeding, breeders search for years to find that one male that makes their strains unique.

It's not that dumb but not as profitable as seeds are because it would make bacrossing possible which is not the case with seeds since we don't have copies of the parents. Also, it won't last as long they would pretty much have to collect the pollen to order because I don't think you can unthaw and refridgerate/freeze it.

pollen doesnt need to be refridgerated to be good it will last room temp for 1year for sure.(tested myself) why would they give away there hard work to produce a great plant and then say here make your own strains and never buy from us again. And like mentioned earlier it takes sometimes years to find that diamond in the ruff, a good male is worth a lot more than any female has ever been. I been hearing a lot of people asking for pollen... And why isnt it that people havent gotten there own? Because its so hard to find that cool dude for you to breed with, i buy regular seeds hoping for males its good practice if you ask me.
