Seedling dying?

So i planted 4 seeds that popped in rockwool. 2 of them shot out instantly, the other two have dragged their feet to get started. All 4 of the seeds popped prior to my adding them to Rockwool. In the pic i posted tho, the seedling on the left is leaning over pretty far...almost laying down. What gives? I'm guessing this isn't normal...

In the past 2 days, every time i look at it, its leaning further over. I've been using a spraybottle to mist the rockwool with 5.0PH water every day, so they don't dry out. It's in a dome with a heat mat under it and a 27 watt 6500k CFL over the top for the time being. I wasn't sure the T5 HO light fixture was necessary yet...maybe that could be it? Any advice is welcome.

It's not leaning over it's growing towards the light. Is there more light in that direction? Also, do you have a fan blowing on them? It's stretching pretty bad. Needs more light.

The light is directly over the top of the dome, so it's odd that it stretches in that direction. I guess it's time for the high output T5 then...

The dome is pretty tall, so I can't put the light any closer without removing it. This is the only time i plan to grow from seed, so i bought a dome that would be more conducive to cloning.

Am i supposed to have a fan blowing on them already?

If they havnt dropped the shell at this hieght i doubt they ever will. Seed quality is poor.

Your eyes deceive you. They have both dropped their shells. The shells fell off before either one of them broke height of the rockwool.

As soon as my seeds pop from the rockwool I remove the dome after a day or two ( the dome is not necessary after a few days ) and give it my T5 light as close as possible, I also give it a small amt of nutes, maybe 100 to 200 ppm, ( there's no nutes in rockwool ) as said you seedlings are stretching for more lights, remove the dome, turn on your T5 as close as possible....good luck.

Right on, thank you very much. That's extremely helpful info.

IMHO -- NO! NO nutes for seedlings! It's too easy to burn them. I was in a similar situation a few months ago with my grow (two plants, turned out both were males). I ended up stunting one because of nutes and killing another because I kept misting and kept the dome on. Clones seem to need misting and domes. Growing from seed, those kids just need a low-level light close above until the root starts to poke through the bottom of the cube.

When I kept misting and kept the dome on, I killed the second plant by inviting damping down disease. So tragic. So sad. So unnecessary. Dome off, wait for a few sets of leaves and then GENTLE wafting of air. The stems will toughen up as they grow.

I just started a new grow. No nutes, just the CFL light above for now. In about 5 days, the roots will be poking down and I'll put them in bubble buckets and move them to a MH light. At 2 weeks, I'll start 1/4 nutes.

Well if no nutes for seedlings I guess after all these yrs of growing I must of killed every plant I ever grew, must be that they've never realized they're dead.
