Seedling Growing Wrong?

Video really sucks, that aside remember its a plant, and this part they have down. It may take a couple days but it will right itself (assuming it has the will to live sometimes the just don't). Those are the "water leaves" i know there is a better name but it eludes me, they will find there way to the light. Good luck and happy growing

Dude its fine. if u want u can pull the shell off of the seedling, thats wat i do to mine and the soil looks really wet, try not to water it so much and the leaves wont droop

...be careful not to overwater the seedling, it's easy to over water when you put seeds in large(r) pots. I personally would've plant the seeds in a very small pot....the seeds will have very little roots as they starts to grow, if they are in large pots, the soil at the bottom of the pot will become too waterlogged because there's no root system to drink from the bottom......

...and I'd get a dark pot, the roots run from light.

...another thing, looks like your growing with miracle grow soil, which has time released fertilizers, and typically isn't a good choice of soil for a novice grower.....especially for seedlings. Seeds don't need any fertilizers for the 1st week, IMO, and that soil you have is loaded with fertilizers.

its not miracle grow but yes it does have a bunch of fertilizer in it, is that going to effect my plant and kill it possibly, and should i cut some holes in bottom so cup has some drainage.

Yes plz poke holes in the bottom for drainage and put it in another cup to catch the water, and no it will not kill the plant but the may be signs of nute def

pulling the seed casing off will help the plant, just be gentle. those seedlings only have a battery type reserve of energy to use to get popped out and leaves open and start making energy so the easier you make that journey for the plant the better off the plant will be.

make sure that container has drain holes in the bottom and wrap it with duct tape so no light gets through. like the other guy said they run from light, it tricks them to thinking they are growing the wrong way. and definatly let the soil dry out, if it is MG soil or even most other potting soil it has nutes that release everytime you water and it can be really easy to burn your seedling this stage of the game as they are not yet equiped to process the chemicals in the soil.

...put it like this: Just as you need oxygen, so does the plant's roots. How many holes would you put in it if you had to breath through it ??

its a ginger ale bottle lol so it transparent but it has a shade of green and does it have to be duct tape or can it be anything that will not alloow light to pass thorough

Definitely block the light from coming through the sides of the container. The first set of leaves are called the cotyledon. Gently remove the shell; the seedling will push it off eventually anyways it'll just use more energy to do it without your help. Looks fine. That sometimes happens depending on how you plant them. Did you plant directly into the soil, or soak in a cup first?
