Seedling In 5 Gallon

What’s up guys! I’m starting my second grow next week with some critical jack autoflower delicious seeds and I was wondering if I could just plant them in their final 5 gallon pot or use a solo cup first then transfer. I have roots organic original soil and coast of Maine soil and was wondering if I could mix two soils together. I want to produce the biggest yields possible. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

You can transplant Autos.

I start them in seed starter pots, transfer to 1 gallon pot after 2 weeks, then transfer again to a 3-5 gal pot (depending) when they get bigger.

I add Cal Mag to my gal of water and soak the pot of coco overnight and next day plant the seed in moist coco. Don't usually need to water but every 4-5 days for first few waterings. Itll be moist but not soaking by the time the seed gets put in and she wont need it again till few days above ground. Sinple for me even though ive never had problems germinating via shot glass/papertowel. Just with autos want to go straight in to avoid any issues.

Very intrested..I was thinking same....i have luck with photoperiode but never luck with autos...also ends up suck with stunted with low veg life. :(

BTW i do seedling to flower qb260

so far used 1g smart pot with over watering seedlings :(
again same happend with 3galloon smart pots.

last time i got gnats as well damn..................

It's all about avoiding transplant shock. It isn't that autos are more susceptible to it than photos exactly, just that if it does occur it hurts more because you can't lengthen the veg time to compensate for it. If you are really good at it and typically do not cause shock during transplanting then go for it. If you have any doubts it is typically safer to just start them in their final pot imho.

i like these kind of bags for autos. you can roll them down so they hold less than a gallon, plant in them, and unroll the bags and add more medium as they grow, plenty of root room and no transplant shock
i like the three gallon ones, but didn't see a link right away.

I drop seed right in final 5 gallon pot. No transplant. Just water center where seed is, expand as seedling grows.

A good transplant does not induce shock. But I figure why take the risk. Autos have a present clock that starts ticking when you drop that seed. Any setback will likely impact yield.

i was stubborn for a while, and was certain you could transplant autos if you did it right. some you can, and some are extremely pissy about it, no matter how careful you are, or how certain you are that the whole thing slid out of the old pot perfectly, they're going to act like you tore half their roots off......so i've started using the disposable bags, filling them half way to begin with, and adding more medium as they grow, the pissiest plant doesn't seem to mind that at all....

I got many of those in all different sizes. Used to grow basil and peppers in them.

Been not happy with fabric pots for pot, might just brake out those bags again!!

I get the best of both worlds using a 3 gal (or w.e size you want" cloth "hydrocrunch" fabric pot, and do this:

Inside the red upside down little pot i used a seed starter I think Whitney farms from ace hardware.

I did the solo cups but last time, after sprouting, right into 7 gal cloth pots. Best results so far. F F soil and jungle juice.
