IMG_1860.jpghello yall
would like to get some feed back on this. this is a dna sharks breath popped from seed 1 wk ago. was germinated in 1in. conditioned rockwool and transplanted after day 3 into 2 gal pots with hydroton. i am running a ebb and flow system with two airstones and a 6 light t5 4 foot fixture (300w). i am also growing nyc diesel, 1 other sharks breath and a auto flower fruit for practice, just cause i can. yes the hydroton has been rinsed and rinsed again and yet once again. ventilation is above average and running 18 on 6 off. temps are consistent between 74 at the moment the lights come on and 84 when the lights go off. humidity is consistent between 39 to 52%. running the fox farm nuts, peroxide, and superthrive @ ppm 317-330 ph from 5.5 to 6.2 and water temp between 72f and 75f. watering 3x daily 6 hours apart while lights are on, for 13 mins

question 1- the pic is of the tips curling up, just the tips not the leaves stretching. is this natural? i have read anything from nitrogen issue to heat. is this a concern? none of the others are showing signs of this.

question 2- i am having a time at trying to balance the ph! in the morning ph is 5.2 to 5.5 and ppm @330. while first flood is happening, ph has gotten as low as 4.7 and ppm has gone as low as 307. when the flood is complete, and after a couple of hours, the ph in the res rises slightly 5.8- 6.0 and ppm is back to 325-330. second flood, the ph in the tray rises to 5.8-6.0 and ppm stays around 325. after a couple hours in the res, ph 6.0 to 6.2. third flood, ph in tray, 6.4-6.7 ppm 325ish after a couple hours 6.2-6.5 and ppm back to 330. what is causing all the movement in ph? i readjust the ph and let it go through the cycle again.

sorry for the run on and need a little piece of mind
thank you in advance

I think I might be able to help with question #1, this might sound weird but you might have too much light, if the leaves are curling up they may not be able to work thier photosynthesis process properly. the reason your leaves are turning is because they are trying to get away form the light, remember they take in thier energy from the tops of thier leaves. if you are seeing them turning thier leaves this just might be the case, your heat looks fine. Move your light up or kill a few bulbs for now... remember it's more about the flower than it is about the veg. stay high

i have moved the light up about a foot and there was no change in a 24hr period. also, wouldnt the others show some signs of this? thank you for your response. cheers

that was wrong advice... leaves curling down would be from the lights too close burning the leaf tips. leaf tips turning upward is usually a sign of some other problem. maybe constant pH fluctuation?

leaf tips curling up with yellowing by the curling brown is a tell sign of mg deffeciency your guys are young so try adding 3/4teap - 1teasp of epsom salt from the pharmacy section at your supermarket and if its magnesium they'll show new growth with no curling

3/4 to 1 tsp epsom to 1 gallon of water or to my 20 gallon res?
also, what are the draw backs if this isnt the issue?
show i just water the one showing the the signs or run the whole system with the epson?
thank you for your input
