What works best in your garden does not always work best in others garden. It's more of a personal choice.
I go 24/0 for the first 2-3 weeks.
I always get amazing results, 5-7oz per plant, but so do others with 18/6.

"I highly suggest you go 18/6 after the seedling stage, for the roots sake."
I don't understand this. I have no problems with 24/7 light. I need to take pic's of the root mass when I pull the males.

id do 18/6

the dark time allows for better root growth

Ahmen.!!! You really should give your young plants.. while in veg.. you should give them a light schedule such as 18/6.. in order to give the roots & plant some time to relax.

Then again.. some plants actually require 24/7 of light for the first few weeks.. I think. Not sure on that.. but I think I remember someone talking about this before... and mentioning something about some strains actually require and need 24/7 constant light for the first few weeks of veg... then can be brought down to an 18/6 schedule.

I personally.. never give my plants 24/7 of light.. since I am a firm believer in giving the plant dark cycles in order to let their roots get nice and healthy... and also.. you need to let your plants complete their cycle of Photosynthesis.

But than again.. I've never tried 24/7. But then again.. I don't need too! hehehe...

good luck everyone.

peace.

Roots benifit when the plant above goes to sleep. Roots are one of the main systems of feeding the plant. The better the root mass the better the feeding to the plant/etc.
