Seedling Nutrition Burn from soil?

Transplanted rapid rooter seedlings into plastic cups 2-3 days ago into fox farm ocean forest soil

I keep plastic cups in humidity domes, I plan to take and keep lid off a few days later
Spray the seedlings and the humidity dome lid 4-5 times a day (the mist completely dries up in an hour :?)

I haven't put any water into the soil, but the rapid rooter still looks quite moist

I don't use any extra nutrition or anything, just mist the lid a lot and spray the seedlings with water. Everything seems to dry up quickly though, I don't know if I should mist more often?

2 humidity domes, 10 cups each, 600w LED light, temperature kept at 21-23C

The seedlings seem to be doing fine, except this one

After closer inspection I'm starting to think it's the seedling shell stuck on the leaf? :???:
Yes...that does look like the shell at a quick glance, and yes, ocean forest is often too hot for babies. I usually set my rapid rooters into Fox farms potting soil if I'm using FF, it is much easier on the little ones.

Did you wet the so prior to transplant? Setting rapid rooters into dry (or barely moist from the bag) soil is not a recipe for success. Moistened soil + b vitimans and maybe myco help (even if for next time)

Depending on the strain you are starting, you may still be ok- but you will probably see some signs of unhappiness before they take off. No food, just ph'd water until they start to show you they are hungry, which will -probably- be about 3-4 weeks.

Good luck!

That maybe the shell but the ffof is going to burn it up when you water it! I start my seeds in sunshine mix 4 I used the ffof but you have to start them in something else anyway so why even bother with it? sunshine mix 4 with 1/3 growstones all the way...

We each have our own preferences, and I know you do very well.

I start my plants in regular old potting soil in a 6 inch pot. At the same time they are ready for their final pot-up, I use FFOF and watch them closely for the next couple of watering. This works for me because then I just need to add a small amount of nutes going forward.

But I've given up on trying to force my plants to grow a certain way. I top, but that's about it. It works very well for me. I must admit, the results I see from DWC, etc... keeps me debating if I should make the switch. :weed:

I like to use used mix that is somewhat depleted, which I add a few castings. Transplant at about 2 weeks to regular mix.

I keep some water inside the tray, and I noticed the soil in the cups have sucked them up and all the soil is very humid, is this ok?
I'm not so sure, but I also noticed the seedlings aren't really changing much for the past 2 days

It takes what seems like forever. Lighting helps though. 4 months will never pass so slowly.

Are you saying that you have those cups in a tray with water in it? That might work, but I wouldn't leave them in water like that. It's a good thing that the soil drys every now and then. Think of nature. Except for Seattle, it simply doesn't rain every day. It is a good way to get seedlings fully watered, but I would remove them after a couple of hours.

I can tell that you're going to have a problem leaving them alone. LOL. If you want to start improving on nature, start with lighting.
