One of the absolute best methods for sprouting seeds I've developed uses hydroton in the bottom of a cup with a 1 1/2" layer of perlite on top.

-Scarify
-Soak 12 hours
-Fill cup with hydroton and perlite with R/O water and drain, leaving a 1/4 inch of water in the bottom.
-Put in perlite about a half in down, not 1/4 inch like with soil... perlite isn't as firm.
-Cover the top with plastic wrap and a rubber band.
-Put in a 75F place with a light above it.
-Once seedling sheds it's hull and starts to open... pull the plastic wrap back about an inch to lower the internal humidity.
-Couple hours later pull the plastic wrap off a bit more.
-Move it to within 3-4 inches of a CFL
-Splash a bit of water into the cup when the 1/4" in the bottom is gone.
-Once seedling shows first set of true leaves and you can see 2" roots.... give 1/4 strength nutes by splashing in and dumping out, leaving the 1/4" layer in the bottom.
-Next day splash with higher nute strength and move closer to lamp.
-Third or 4th day give nearly full strength nutes and place as close to lamp as you would a normal plant under your lights.
-5th or 6th day give full strength

This whole process takes about 10 days with fast sprouting seeds and works with Lucas Formula only. I don't know of any other nutrient profiles that are balanced enough to allow this to work without burning the seedling.

Yes

And it did spread to another set of leaves but its not bad like the first set was

But the new growth is still nice and green

IMHO!! i would not worry, but cal mag wont do them no harm help them if anything :)

Hey wimmb

My TDS tester came in today

What do i want my ppm to be my man ?

Also what do i do to make my ppm go up or down and i guess i test it with the pump on also right ?

Sorry for asking such noob questions my man but when it comes to hydro i am a noob lol

some people take reading while pumps are on but i normally shut mine of for a few seconds to get my readings and then switch it back on, no damage or harm to them.
ppm can be affected by adding more water nutes ph up/down so alwyas check your ppm last thing before adding nutes and water etc..........
to increase you ppm you had more nutes, to decrease ppm add plain water. hope that helps! :)
And noob questions are what i am here for m8 ;)

I just fixed up some nute water to switch out my res ,

What do i want the ppm to be ?

Right now its showing 881

I cant thank you enough for your help my man

The man is correct. I take a clean plastic cup and take a sample from my res, dont test inside the res the bubbles and mixing of water will make your readings go up and down.

Not far at all my man ,

Just a couple of weeks

But i will be flipping soon since im a micro grower

It has went up a little since i first did it ( 915 now ) , maybe cuz its been sitting their while iv been on here asking idk

The first pic is the dwc obviously lol

The 2nd 2 are my micro 12/12 from seed babies that i lstd

Soil seems so much simpler right now , but hopefully that will change once i get all this down lol

How many ml of nutes you putting per ltr???
Just by looking i would say start of and 350-400 and work ya way up untill you flip them over.

I put 1 and a 1/4 teaspoon of maxibloom in a gallon

You say 350 - 400 and work my way up

Its already around 900 , what do i want it to be my man ?

So how do i drop the ppm to 400 without losing the nutes ?

you dont need it at 900 pal at the age, thats rusty leaf could be a deficeny due to many nutes, seedling only need a small amount of nutes and they will live nicely and been as you flipping soon, pointless bumping loads in them.
How many liters is you bucket and i would suggest you going one ml per ltr and see how that works. :)
