Good morning everyone.

I am going to try germinating in some rapid rooters this year.

What type of florescent is recommended here? How many hours per day should they be under light?

Thanks in advance.

I germinate in complete darkness and HIGHLY recommend that. My seeds usually pop within 24 to 72 hours max (I run a heat mat under my small humidity tray).
The moment I see cotyledons emerge (not even unfold). I move my seedlings under my 4 lamp HO T5 which is positioned at first roughly 6" away and I move it down so it's right above the cotyledons. I leave about 1 inch above them so they don't touch the light and burn. I never put the lamp on with the humidome as I've poached seedlings doing that. I use an 18/6 plant cycle. Plants NEED some darkness.

So the humidome comes off as soon as I see cotyledons and the light goes up.

t5's are the best t8's will work too you can even get away with the standard floro's as for time anywhere from 18 on/6 off - 24 hours a day on

A 6500k or full spectrum 5000k will work for you. You can go with either the screw bulbs or t5. You can really use most lighting, be in flouro, hid, led, sunlight, or shampoo. How long depends on you but 18 and up if you're trying to veg it out a bit. Before you dress caress
