How long does it usually take for seedlings to break the surface of the soil?? I'm just really anxious.
I germinated 4 seeds and you could see that the seeds had cracked and could just barely see the tap roots. Maybe I should have waited for the taproots to get all the way out of the seeds, but too late now. At that point I put them in my FFOF/FFLW/Perlite mixtures, watered each and put them under the CFL's in my box. I did this Satuday afternoon. I am scared I might have put them in too deep, I'm not sure. I want to keep the temps up in my box until the seedlings emerge, so I turned off the fan in the box a few hours ago (is this a good idea?). Hopefully I'll start seeing something by tomorrow. Is 2-4 days about average for seedlings to break the surface? Thanks. Again, I'm probably just worrying a little bit too much. I've got a lot of money put into this grow.
