Thanks for the advice THC604 -- Feeding them? No, not yet, I thought you needed to wait a week or so until you start feeding them. Is that not right? I originally soaked the peat cubes in a solution of water + root 66 ( a root enhancer ) - I thought that is all I need until I transplant into my soil pot. Once in soil, I wait a week to start feeding or when they look like they need it.

I want to be careful I dont over fert or over water -- so Im waiting until the plant tells me... but Im nervous, as its my first grow.

No. I think he said don't feed for the first couple of weeks, which is correct.

Yeah thats spot on mate..
i wait till the girls tell me they need feeding, never before...
Strange in that case i'm not to sure what maybe the cause...
Might be the root 66 maybe the strain your growings not to keen on it hence the slight leaf curl..

Ok, so I was doing a little reading on some other threads about this... it may be a humidity issue. So I turned off the fan, and turned the heating mat back on.
And since the temp of 80F seems to be a bit low, I feel ok with the heating mat, or is this wrong?
Also, I decided to raise the T5 up a bit, it was about 8 inches above, now its 12 inches...

nah thats cool just keep a eye mate.. you using a humidity dome?
And ive always been of the understanding that you can keep a t5 really rather close without any probs??
however i keep my seedlings under a 125w cfl and that sits maybe 3-4inch above my dome mate and i've never had any bother..

ok, so it sounds like I might not have an "issue" at the moment, but to simply keep an eye out for anything dramatic....

sound about right?

Do you have the seedling covered? Like THC was saying you wanna keep that humidity high. The best way of that is to cover them with a clear lid.

Just let em do there thing they'll show ya when they want something..
Its a weed at the end of the day and there quite resiliant i would stick em under a dome thou...

yep, got them in a humidity dome, the T5 is currently 16 inches from the top, and I have a heat mat running... that should bring the humidity up a bit

you dont feed them for the first couple weeks because the soil should carry some nutrients that your plant will feed on. they look pretty wet to me so maybe your over watering but if you know your not then ignore me hah

do not water them heavily for the first two weeks and do not fertilize. its not a good idea to put the seedlings under a dome that will cause problems! turn on the fan too.low humidity is not much a problem once the beans sprouted.
you can lower the t5s 2 or even 1 inch above the plants without a problem but should have good air circulation.
no heat mat from now on.
