Seedlings stretching

I have four new seedlings starting under a Mars Hydro ts1000 the the recommendation s for seedlings is 24 inches .I have it at 19 inch and I still find my seedlings stretching is it okay to lower it even though the recommendation is 24 inches

It only a recommendation, do what you need to do. I dim my ts1000 down to 75-80watt and keep it a 12" for the first 5-7 days with my autos and then power up and adjust to plant reaction if I see any light/heat stress. Now I've got to eat a firecracker. Happy 4th of July.

That’s some pretty significant stretching. They are reaching for the light. I would lower watt and hanging distance if at all possible.
 
I have 4 autos. 1000wt till I can afford another, overhead, I started the sprouts on a close 120wts close. Will switch tomorrow. Thinking 18" overhead, raised as they grow 24/7. Always grew regs before outside. Tipped and maybe LST latter. Seedlings are 4" tall. Not sure if I putting 120wt strip on the side might help. Plants rotate for easy access. With a fan of course. Bringing up humidity will be the hart part. Would like non electric. Maybe a big tray with fan moving water. Any ideas appreciated
