Seeds have cracked open, but the roots not growing??

Hi I have my seeds germinating.

Firstly I placed them in a glass of distilled water. Had them sink to the bottom and 12 hours later placed them between paper towel and two plates in a warm dark place.

Now. I have 5 seeds. One has actually cracked open and it's taproot started growing and got long enough for me to place in a medium.

The thing is. I have 3 others, all which have cracked and are showing their tiny tap root, but it's been two days and they aren't really growing. Any ideas? Is something I'm doing wrong.

The paper towel is very saturated with some small standing water, it's in between two paper towels, covered by plates, and is sitting on my xbox to keep the plates semi warm.

O.k, yes it is damp not flooded. But wouldn't putting them in soil make little difference in this case, I mean if they aren't growing they aren't growing correct?

Theres 3 in the pic that i would put into soil, as soon as i see the white part it goes into soil for me.

The seeds and the paper towel look too wet to me. Put them in your medium - keep moist - not saturated.

As soon as the tap root comes out of the shell they need to be put in the medium! You don't want the tap roots to get damaged. The longer they get the more likely they'll be damaged.

Shut your trap and open your ears. Listen to members that are trying to help you. If that's what your thinking, go ahead and pitch it.

That's the problem THEY ARE GROWING IN 3/4. Besides that right now the tap root wants to go SOUTH into soil/medium. In that picture they aren't. Plants notice small stuff like that even if you don't. Listen to the quoted post above. I quoted the wrong post sorry cass
