that happened to me once so i put one in a shot glass and when it sank i put it back in the paper towels sprouted a day or two later. make sure you have them next to a heater or in a warm dark place.

ya. their in a dark warm place.

should i try like putting all the seeds in a cup of glass for one day then put them back in the towel?

and they can still germinate in the cup of glass right

i think i would try each seed in a seperate shot glass then put them back into the paper towels, its what i did. you can also search the sight for germination problems im sure there one out there

If they were white they sound like immature seeds..Did you get them from a reputable seed bank or just haze bagseed??
Theyre not standing in a puddle of water in the paper towels are they?? Have the seeds/paper towels ever been allowed dry out since you've been germing them? because that will usually fuck them up straight off..
I never have problems with this - Moisten the paper towel then squeeze to remove excess water...cover the plate with shrink wrap and store in a dark place...

Alot of seeds have a wax like coating to help seal them from bacteria, which some times needs scuffing, to allow them to soak water,to start the first stages of germination.

You could sterilise a scalpel(make sure your hands are V clean too, then lightly score along the seam on a seed or 2 , which will help them ingress water and will make the seed pod easier to pop open...Dont go too deep, just lightly scuff the seam, or track the blade along the seam, so as not to actually puncture the seed shell.
You could also put the seeds in a matchbox with a piece of sand paper in it, and lightly shake the box for 30 -60 secs, to scuff up the shells to improve water absorbtion,Then put into a glass of water for a few hours before back into the paper towels..although scuffing should ideally be done before the seeds are pre-soaked and put in paper towels..

uess that theyre starting to deteriorate...or rot.
post a pic of the whitish seeds you have, and the ones youre trying to germ.
so we can make a more informed diagnosis.

well heres the thing (not sure if you read what i said before)

the white seeds turned like the dark black color while they were germaniting...

so their not white anymore.

and as of today, the seeds have still not sprouted, but i did see one seed and it looks like its about to split... but its been like a week and 3 days now.

i do remember planting one seed without it germinated and it started to grow untill the cat ate it.

you guys think if i give them like 3 more days and if their still not sprouted

should i just plant them?

like what are the chances for these to grow?

another question, are all seeds the same when germinating... like do some take longer then others?

thanks

ya seeds are all different like snowflakes, i would plant half of them and keep the other half germinating then germinate some new seeds a different way. good luck!

Them seeds sound premature. You want seeds to be a dark/amber colour to begin with. Hey who knows. It could just be genetics..............

Bro i did read what you'd posted..

guess that theyre starting to deteriorate...or rot.
Most of the Light colored seeds i've had that i tried to germ, will turn black eventually, usually meaning theyre dead.
regular seeds sometimes go slightly darker during germination, but most seeds dont start out white. As Hank said, as a rule of thumb,Healthy mature seeds tend to be amber/dark beige/fawn kinda color.

This was so i can A) see how the seeds looked beforehand,to see if they look immature and B) to see if the seeds youre trying to germ look dead .
Hence make a better guess at the problem

I've had seeds pop in 4hrs and some that have taken 20+ days, all depends on the seeds/strain/germing technique hombre..If they were old seeds, they could have lost their vigor, and might need a hand to pop the shell by wwither scuffing or scalpel. and maybe a drop of superthrive in the pre soak solution to help promote germination.....
I suspect yours are Immature, and if theyre too immature, you can either end up with an empty seed pod or a seed pod with an embryo that isnt fully formed, or if your lucky, they'll be fully formed, and just a lil 'difficult' to pop, again this is where the scuffing etc comes into play, if theyre proving tough and you think they are viable seeds.

Seeds do not pop to a schedule, they pop when and if theyre ready.
We can but help them along, with a reasonably sterile moist medium to germinate in, warm dark conditions.

Also, It might be worth a shot...Try to put them somewhere a tiny bit warmer, see if it makes any difference.
I usually germ seeds in trays on my shelf, but at this time of yr i have to put them on top of the PC case,as even though its warm here, its still not quite warm enough.

I've found that seeds from different regions will germ better under different temps.

Its a problem if you use it straight out the tap.
If you are going to use tap water, you need to let it 'stand' for a couple of days to dechlorinate. Chlorine isnt good for seeds or plants, and thats why you should leave it to stand, so the chlorine can evaporate from the water.
