well, one issue would be is no new genetics from october till spring
seeds fall and over winter in the snow until the next year. I wouldnt leave my seeds in the snow, but the mail box is works every time, season after season. some store their seeds in the freezer too but I've found my fridge seeds are viable longer than my freezer seeds, both packed with desiccant bags, in a insulated lunch pack.
