I have not heard that rumor to be honest. I do know people say those that sink tend to have a higher chance of being viable. I just tried you suggested method and had mixed results. Only 3/5 popped. It seems like the best way is the paper towel method. Just take a couple paper towels, wet them, put them in an airtight container (mason jar, Tupperware, two stacked plates) and set them in a dark area and check every 12 hours for any signs of cracking. Make sure it is nice and warm 75-85 with a highly humid environment. Best of luck!

That is definatly not true bro. Just a old wives tail in my mind. Usually you can soak em for like 2-4 hours then use the paper towel method. Should have a decent success rate with that method

Sink or swim , thats a new one I haven't heard, only one way to tell if the seed is female, grow it out and sex it.
