seeds won't pop

i am not really a newbie. been doing this for 20 years. i never had this issue before.
bought a bunch of seeds from multiverse and from seeds here now.
popped 8, 1 of each strain 6 days ago. put them in papwer towels, then in a sealed baggie, then all the bags in a larger gallon baggie.
it was placed on a vivosun heating mat.
waited for two days, 5 or 6 had the small white bit coming out. i waited another day hoping more would pop and the white bit would get longer.

the white bit didn't get longer. i planted them all. been 3 days and nothing.

as a separate test, i did the method i have always used since i just got the vivosun mat. single seed, paper towel, between two plate on the stereo. i was 8 for 8 last round. this time i got the white bit to com out a tine amount. waited to the morning to plant, the white part is gone. i am not sure what to do.

this is super basic. nothing normal is working. is something wrong with the seeds?
i keep the doing the same thing thinking i will get the result i always got which was success.
also, now i keep doing the same thing and the outcome is the same , failure.

seed brands are sweet seeds, thseeds, la plata, dutch passion and ace.

heat? from 70f? i have never stored seeds in the fridge. i used a pack i got off the dark web for 4 years straight and temps got to 80f. i used to grow from shwag seeds. they almost always popped. planted 104 and got like 96 to germinate. they had been strored in no special way at all and were old.

when the seeds were delivered it was like 100 degrees outside. June and September

For almost 2 decades, I've stored every seed, auto and photo, in my frig and germ straight to medium ...100% germ. Moisture and heat mat on 80F are essential. Nothing else required but patience.
While you may see some success with paper towels, it seems handling increases failure rates.

You probably cooked them on the heating pad. Next time skip paper towels and heating pads, plant direct to media, keep moist not wet, under mild lights 24/7, at 80 degrees. Keeping the temperature stable is important but heating pads kill more seeds than almost anything else, so just keep them in a warm place. Here is a good guide https://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Germination-Guide

I also tried in my normal spot that works all the time....I considered that already but that might be true still

Strait to soil is the way to go. Now u got fried seeds on the menu. (:
No heating pads needed. Your light is heat.

it just worked for the last 20 year is all. not sure what the deal is. i even tried the old way. i just finished a grow using the old method. 8 for 8. now 0 for 9. may just put some in soil and hope for hte best. 82f or so is good enough in the tent for soil germ?

Soak seeds in a glass of tap water with a shotglass of 3% hydrogen peroxide on a heat mat, taproot within 24 hours than plant, just sprouted 2 year old seeds

Most of my seed starting issues in the past have been improper storage of seeds, using too strong of lighting to germinate, using a heat pad, and being impatient as well .

Try straight to medium, with rather mild lighting as even fluorescents germinate seeds fine! 80 degrees or so and wait, Don’t get too impatient skipping the paper towel and baggies is worth it trust me !

Good Luck!

My method is extremely complicated but if the seed is viable it works 100% of the time.

why do folks over-complicate stuff for no reason? smh :wall:
They gone be some strick overbearing parents. Gone baby the plant with to much love. That's how problems come. Doing way to much and create issues where there were none. If the plant don't ask for it don't give it.
U might have to repeat your process and zoom in so they don't miss nothing. :)
I skip the tweezers
Me too! I drop rt into medium from bag or tube.

I just dropped into soil with 4 more beans. Will report.

what temp is the heat pad?
when you see the taproot, if you wait another 24hrs does it die?
As soon as I see a taproot emerge even if only a tiny bit I plant, usually end up getting taproot around the 20 hour mark of soaking in water than plant and sprout within 24 hours usually
