I planted some seeds five days ago after germinating them they had some really good shoots on them but only two have come through how long does it take normally for them to come through I water every day and they are close to the light I'm starting to get worried they are not going to come through.

Give it a few more days and careful not to over water them. You can put a lid or plastic wrap over the seedling pots to hold in humidity as they get ready to come through the soil. Also, warm soil temperatures help. If all else fails, dig them up in a few days and see whats going on under there.

I recently had this problem also. planted germed seeds into cups, and a few refused to pop through the soil. What happens is when you water the soil, sometimes they will sink a little lower than you would like. I carefully moved the dirt off the top to find the seedling had sunk. the coty leaves had turned white and were going to die. i put a sandwich bag over the affected seeds, gave them a few more days. they are all pulling through.

I ve always wait for two weeks before i discard the unpop beans.

I found the best way is hydrate the beans first before plant into medium. Soak your beans for overnight before you sow, dont require dome because its already hydrated. If you see some beans still float after you stir...thats dub one...and if you see some of beans already sunk to the bottom they re ready to sow and will pop from 1 to 7 days.

i agree with some posters said dont overwater...I highly recommend to get spray...I would mist on the surface soil when the surface soil is about to get dry...never let it dry till you see the sprout...dont need mist anymore.

Hope this will helps.
