hey guys i have a few outdoor havests under my belt but this year is the first year im not buying clones i am doing everything from seed, with that being said its also my first time keeping my plants inside to care for everyday til theyre big enough and til its warm enough to put them outside. so i started 4 plants about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks ago (23 all together but the rest are just starting to pop up now, so 4 bigger plants the rest just been germd and planted) i have them in 2 1/2 gal pots with fox farm ocean forest soil on an 18--6 cyle with an AgroBrite 125 watt flourecent grow light and i've been doing LST to keep them as squat and bushy as possible as to not have 8 foot trees outside. and i have learned the hard way once already that it was too early to feed with Fox Farm liquid fert (grow big) or it was to strong for the first feeding cuz i nute burned them once but hey lesson learned right! so i have flushed them out and they have been doing great... all of a sudden today i realize that the top new growth and the smaller/younger growth is a much lighter green or a lime green i guess than the rest of the leaves, and it seems to be starting the discoloration in the center and working outwards... i hope i have provided enough info for some help!! does anyone have any idea what is causing this lighter colored new growth and shoots??

Even my seedlings are showing lime green and some yellowing as soon as they pop up I talked to my local garden store any hydroponic store neither of them thought the ph was an issue but Both of them said it could be hard water from the tap I just wanted another opinion... I just switched to distilled water

Agree with the water thing. Thing that sucks about soil is it will take a few days before you even see if it works.

the thing that sucks even worse is that i forgot to add extra perlite to my soil and its holding water like a mofo so im still waiting for it to dry out. even so my seedling are in those jiffy cups and they dry out pretty fast so if water was the prob i should see an improvement in my next set of new growth leaves right??

Yeah always check the new growth for improvement, really the only indicator.
Also just for shits and giggles check the run off water for ph.

I wouldn't do too much honestly, they look a little N defficeinct now whats causing it I'm not sure.

Lol yeah from a hydro store. Get one from amazon about $20 the Etekcity one is what i have its been working for a year now. But also get the 4.0 and 7.0 ph solution to help keep it adjusted properly.
If you buy it all at once and get it shipped to your house you will still save $25 lol.
Amazon is a great place to shop, get an idea at your hydro store or their site then go on amazon.

Patience is a big thing with soil, I really had to learn it coming from hydro. Your right about the drowning them, very common problem while trying to fix another problem lol ppl just keep watering and watering. Be patient.

Did u add any lime to ur soil? If they were mine I'd add 1tbsp/gal water garden lime and drench. That might green up your leaves.

the 4.0 and 7.0 is that the same as ph up and ph down or is that what you mean? and yeah im trying to be as patient as possible i have my humidity at like 68% so knew it was gonna take a couple days but i gently fluffed the soil haha making sure not to expose any roots tho. and i added 2 more holes on each side of the pot.... they are not getting worse tho so i think im in good shape now i just gotta fixem

The 4.0 and 7.0 solution is a testing solution to make sure your ph meter is calibrated correctly. For example, put a little bit of the solution into a small glass (shot glass or coffee cup) so that the tip of the meter is submerged. If you put the 7.0 solution then it should read 7.0, if its to high or too low then you will need to adjust it (theres a small screw on the back that needs to be turned). And obviously if the solution is the 4.01 then thats about what it should read (the cheap ones will have room for error so the 4.01 probably won't show 4.01 but real close).
The ph up and down is just to adjust the water that your watering with.

So a tip.... if you use a foliar spray of whatever nutes your using then they will show a difference real fast but won't last long at all, a few hours to a day. Make sure everything is PH'd.

You have done enough by now, so just relax and let them do their thing. Your lights will also help dry things out.
I would bring that humidity down to 50%.

Lime will bump up ur ph and adds calcium which is necessary for growth. If u add the lime the epsom salts aren't necessary. Epsom salts is magnesium sulfate ...Cannabis is a mag whore and does like a lot of mag comparatively.

what would you recommend using in the foliar spray as of now the only nutes i have are grow big and tiger bloom the tiger bloom isnt even open yet i have used any of it also how much should it be diluted and and when is the best time to spray them? can you burn your leaves if its not diluted enough and or if you spray with the lights on or is that untrue?

so i have a soil ph tester and moisture meter (2 in 1) do you still think the lime would be a good idea if my soil ph tester is saying the ph is at 6.9 7.0?

No. 7.0 is neutral and 6.8 is optimum. The yellowing must be something else. Overwatering willcause yyellow leaves as will lack of O2. U can try a tbsp of epsom salts to 1gal water and either drench or spray directly on the leaves. It wont hurt.
