Seeking nearly pure Sativa seeds. Seedbank/Breeder rec, or trade.

Seeking an excellent Sativa. Looking for something other than Haze. Not looking for a Cindy or Flo sort of thing. Something closer to a Thai or Hawaiian, 12-16wk (+) sort of thing. Working with a BeanHo: SSH1 x SSH2 that takes 12wks , it is exceptional. Just looking for one more Sativa that is not Haze. Maybe a good source of some Thai or Hawaiin? Not feminized, not GHS.

If you have some suggestions, shoot. Just keep it friendly. 8)

dr grinspoon. heirloom sativa with a very long flower time. very high in thc. very low in cbds/cbvs. in fact a recent high times had a top 10 and i believe grinspoon was highest in thc out of them all. not by much though, maybe a fraction of a %. check barneys seed farm for more info. i got a few from single seeds. they're slow and touchy but doing good otherwise. i think they only come feminized.

also single seeds you can even order just one seed. better off with several though in case you get a bad pheno. every single seed i have got sprouted just fine. you seem quite interested in sativa varieties so i highly recommend you check out single seeds. they literally have thousands of strains. i think about 10,000 strains but a lot are out of stock. they are also legit i never had any problems. i read somewhere i riu a post that said they were a scam but a friend of mine ordered and never had problems. i tried and also had no problems whatsoever. you do risk confiscation in the mail but i havent had it happen yet.

i don't have much recent sativa experience, but did sativa grows in the '70s, that's all there was for bag seed
so i do know the look of mexican/columbian sativas
so i've seen grow logs of some of these heirloom sativa genetics that were out crossed with some indica, and whatever else the breeder's did
anyways, i see what pops out of those, f'ing hybrids is what they are, NOT the sativa plants i remember
so be wary of these 'recovered' sativa genetics, might as well buy some other hybrid

Pizzapuffer - Looked into that Dr Grinspoon. Totally interested. Thanks alot. That was just the sort of thing I was looking for. And, Barneys Farm is for sale at hempdepot, score.

Growone- Thanks for the heads up. I think i know what you mean. That's why I mentioned no Cindy or Flo. I've tried both, they are awesome, but it just isn't the sort of thing I've found in the really Hazey plants out of that BeanHo SSH1 x SSH2 pack. I wasn't even born in the 70s though. So maybe I just don't know. I thought "Thai Stick" was just a Cheech and Chong joke. Haha, just playin.

I found these "Malberry Seeds" at Hemp Depot. Looks interesting. Mulanje Gold looks good if it is what it says it is.

Currently, it's sort of between Mulanje Gold - Malberry Seeds, Dr Grinspoon - Barneys Seed Farm, and Bohdi Sativa - Reeferman.

I wish I would have picked up a Willie Nelson from Reeferman while it was still available. Reefermans Indian Haze was the first Sativa I ever grew out. I wasn't to grow savvy back then, but it was great.

you don't see too much for sativa grows here on riu, there are some, but more in the haze type of direction
there are other sites that have more dramatic sativa grows, but i'll respect the forum rules in regards to external grow site links
i will mention there are a few Nirvana sativa's(el dorado is one i think), that look very much like mexican sativa's
some don't think much of nirvana, but i've gotten what i've paid for with their genetics
thing is, from the best of my memory, most grows of el dorado sucked, but a few seemed to have nailed it, outside that is
this is deal with growing landrace sativas, indoor doesn't always cut it, real landrace stuff doesn't always seem to take to indoor environments like modern hybrids do

I am planning to do a test run of Eldorado next Fall. It does look promising on paper. We'll see if it does OK indoors. I run both MH and HPS bulbs on a light mover, which I understand to come closer to replicating the sun in equatorial regions. Fingers are crossed well in advance...

El Dorado looks good.

Heard the same things about Nirvana. Think the usual thing people said was that all the plants seem to be pretty similar. NL#5 being the parent for nearly every seed was the explanation usually given. But, ?. No beef with Nirvana here. Just gave up on ordering from anywhere but HD and PSBC after lost packages. Maybe it is time to give Dr Greenthumb a try/a ton of money for 5 seeds.

It's funny. Favorite plant in this garden was from a $35 pack of 20 seeds. One pack of 10 purchased for $180 didn't even produce a keeper. FME, price doesn't really reflect quality in the seed business.

Nice. Did a few =(600hps)=(400mh)=(600hps)= grows in the past. Fun stuff.

Nirvana's El Dorado?

Yep Nirvana/Sativa Seedbank. I believe Sativa Seedbank was either acquired by Nirvana or they have some sort of marketing arrangement.

this is how nirvana operates, it's kind of a coop, so each strain may come from a different breeder
and those breeders seem to change from time to time
i think this is what gives nirvana an uneven reputation
but no single breeder produces all gems, some are better than others, so homework pays off whatever your final choice

Thanks I didn't know that. I couldn't find a lot of info on El Dorado but figured it was worth a try. I am looking for a clear headed sativa and it sounds like this is one. I'll do a grow journal so others can follow along.

I'll try to remember to post the link in this thread. Of course, I won't be popping the seeds until September or so. This will be a true test of long term memory...

i'm a sativa fan myself, but that dr grinspoon looks like straight up ass to me... have you taken a look at the so called buds on that thing?? i know sativa's are supposed to be whispy, but wtf are those things?? doesn't even look like a weed plant to me..
not only that, buy barneys farm is not one of the better breeders out there, so i stay far away from them and that dr grinspoon..

reeferman has some killer sativa's out, but idk if he's out of the game or what the deal is, but his gear tends to be hard to land anymore, but the willie nelson is supposed to be pretty bomb, and sounds like what you're looking for imo..

or maybe something like this as well..

Willie Nelson is what I am looking for but I have been unable to find it. I really wish I would have picked it up when it was available.

I remember a while back Reeferman seeds were all on sale, then after those were gone there hasn't been much out. I think I remember seeing a post from him about being "done" or something like that.

The HMWauwi sounds good. Does that description say 7-8 wks to flower indoors? Or is it that it takes 7-8 wks to start flowering from seed?

I've tried some of those 8wk sativas before. I'm pretty convinced that anything that finishes that quick is not going to do produce what I am looking for.

http://hempdepot.ca/seeds/reeferman/Bohdi%20Sativa.htm This is some reeferman I have found still for sale.

Did his "Indian Haze" a while back, and it was killer. My lack of Sativa growing knowledge back then did not do the plant justice. But it was still great.

I have noticed the down sides to that Dr Grinspoon. Nothing of mine is for sale, so am not that worried about yield. But, I hear ya.
