Seeking outdoor grow guru

Hey folks,

I really want to grow, specifically in a medical or legal state. I wanted to grow outdoor for years but, had to put it off for school, but guess what....school was a waste of time, because a can't find a job in my field of study. So here I am thinking - I love cannabis and I've always dreamed about making it a profession, so what better time than now to start.

I know growing is naturally a secretive and shady undertaking but, I have to hope that their is someone out there who might need some help on their grow or who is willing to impart some words of wisdom. I just read an article about a 400lb outdoor grow in cannabis culture magazine. I had a hard time not drooling. I can't believe people are getting 10lbs+ a plant...incredible!!!

I'm thinking about gorilla growing out in the middle of nowhere this summer...but I'm not %100 sure because my state is still pretty tough on cannabis.

Ideally, someone will respond "yeah I got a great plot out here in NoCal, come on out and give me a hand." I know that's probably not gonna happen lol, but I'd like to hear from anyone who has thoughts or advice for an ambitious noob like myself

Thanks

P.S. sorry if this is the wrong forum...

Have a look at Craig's list in Cali, I know you can start off as a trimmer, or as a dispensary worker and maybe go from there.
You'll need contacts within the industry I think before you get a invite.

Come over to New Zealand and help me harvest my plants bro hahaha :bigjoint:

Jorge Cervantes has some great info, dvds & books.

Best of luck for your first season mate! Please grow pure breeding/landrace genetics. Ace and Cannabiogen are good seed companies for that. Cant beat those electrifying landrace sativas!.

my state is harsh on cannabis as well but i have been growing ever year since 2003 fkk the law!! if u decide to grow u will need 3 things 1. good outdoor proven strains 2. good soil full of nutrients 3. neem or karanja oils & meals..this will set u off in the right direction..just read read and read some more in the outdoor sections of the fourms..when u think u have read enuff and got it down pat thats when u need to read some more..growing cannabis is trial and error some years maybe super successful and some may be total shit but the experience u get from it will help u each year to become a better grower..gl

...forget about 10lb plants...

Average is 1-3 per...You can grow good where ever you are....and I have seen 12ft plants in northern Indiana...so they will grow where you are.
If you are planning a guerrilla grow [you are?!] ....put out 4X as many plants as you want...Expect losses!
Site selection is critical. Corn fields may provide a soil indication. Look for nettle "bogs" and plant there, too. Tall stands of ragweed will provide some cover....and deer will waste a patch, in a heartbeat.

Outdoor plants only average 1-3 pounds? Are you talking from seed? I have seen some monster grows from people who start indoors during winter then transplant outside after the last frost, figured they would *have* to be in the 5+ range.

Honest question, hoping to get my hands dirty this grow season although ill probably be a little late :P

Starting indoors is great or starting in a greenhouse before the last frost, but the biggest thing you have to remember is....
Daylight hours, if your below 14 hours of light they will start to flower and maybe they will come back to veg but that'll be a lot of stress and time wasted that could be spent growing strong roots and tall trees lol.
If you want a couple monster trees then do it the KISS method, keep it simple stupid.
Start a couple indoors (no more than 5), first find you a good to great spot. If you have a place and your like ehh it'll work then leave because its not your spot, trust your instinct. Try to find something facing south preferably a slight hill side with 4-8ft shrubs etc. hope it has good native soil, if it doesn't then you have a decision to make, make your own soil or buy something like miracle grow. Easiest for you (KISS) get something similar to miracle grow.
Try to dig a hole that would fit a 3 gallon pot, mix in the native soil with your soil and water.
Now you can start when ever you want indoors but you need to remember the light time, 18-20 hours for seedlings then slowly crank them down to 16 hours, don't just throw them out doors after the first frost. Look at farmers almanac or other weather sites and get daylight hours there.
If you have a plant that is a month old before you put it out.. say last week of may then you'll have a total of 3 months veg before flowering starts. If the soil has plenty ofnutes and nothing eats them or they drown so forth and so on, you get it.
Then you could have a bumper crop. Good luck but there is a lot of variables, good thing is you have a couple months before go time.
Tip: goggle satellite is a great tool to find an out of the way spot.

Starting NOW, you have a window of opportunity. They plants will [most likely] sex w/o getting too deep into flower before going back o veg. When you start getting buds, you are getting a little far into flower...but,if your timing is good, you can get them to just sex before going back.
...and when you sex plants early, there is an off chance that a few that sexxed fem will turn bull for the late flowering. Seen it happen.. but you can get 90% of the males early...maybe more.
