Your point was why don't they have laws for all that stuff?

All I'm saying is there are regulations to help prevent deaths and injuries for all those cases.

BTW, there are laws concerning war.

You have the Geneva Convention: A set of rules to follow during war.
Our laws also state how we can declare war etc, so there are rules in place...

Geneva rules are not laws in this country, they are agreements between sovereign nations. We don't declare war, the last time actually did I wasn't even born yet. Vietnam, Iraq, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Somali...none of these were declared wars. Congress declares war, the president declares peace keeping missions and military actions, but never an actual war.

OSHA does not prevent anything, do you see OSHA employees catching others before they fall? Nope, all OSHA does is fine people for doing stupid things. Like being stupid was a crime or something.

Thomas Jefferson said something about the duty of American citizens to stand up to bad laws, and to defy them. This is a classic example.

Agreed!!! But when you have govt. involved in controlling food and also in charge of health insurance...I do believe some foods will be listed as hazardous or banned out right.

How much does Corn Syrup cost? I guess thats why everyones so fat. they make it cheaper to eat crap than healthy food. you are what you eat. Why aren't we subsidizing organic heirloom vegetable and fruit and berry farming?

They have done alot of studies showing people who eat a lot of sugar and corn syrup are many times more likely to be obese than people who's diets consist of mostly fat and protein.

And we subsidize corn, one of the least nutricious foods and that is why almost everything is made from corn or corn syrup. Why are tax dollars being used to reduce the price of corn and corn syrup? that is why everyone is so fat. you shouldn't be able to get a double cheese burger for 99 cents

High fructose corn syrup is a form that has been tinkered with to create an absolute poison. And it is in EVERYTHING. This is every bit as scandalous as Aspartame, which btw turns into formaldehyde when mishandled. Leave a can of sugar-free soda in the sun for an hour or two, and you'll be drinking embalming fluid.

Corporations don't give a rat's ass about health, they are driven by profit, and they are the ones making the laws.

The people have been shut out and shit on, and THEY/WE are supposed to be the govt.

Tell me about it, just the other day we were going through our pantry just to see how many things had HFCS in them, and you are correct, there is a lot of shit out there you wouldn't even think has it, but does. We didn't have too many things only because i'm big on cooking from scratch and not out of a box or packet. Let this bill become law and even more of our food will come out of a box.
