anyways being from cali there are quite a few dank strains that we cant get in alaska and was wonderig how to successfully mail plant cuttigs and then clone them by tissue culture, would sending the plant in a mildly wet vaccum sealed bag keep it alive enough for 3 days to get the cutting and then prep for tissue culture?

im willing to invest quite a dollar for somehing like this, imagine GSC in alaska....

Wouldn't sending seeds be easier?

why send seeds and not an og cut? theres also a few strains that tend to be hard to get good seeds from, plus the work and time involved is to much.

What? You think tissue cloning with be simpler than buying seeds the way everybody else does? Well then, if you have to make it more complicated why not get pollen mailed to you and make your own seeds?

Lol to "og" cut....

I guess cloning is much easier then dropping 10-20 seeds and finding that one keeper. But then again, i'm not a "connoisseur" like some - I usually find something that I deem "good enough" :)

Fresh cuttings kept moist would have no problem surviving for 3 days in the mail. The might try to begin flowering but that is easy enough to fix. No tissue culture necessary just recut them and put them into your medium of choice. Good luck.

@above poster.

thanks ill be doing this soon :D

@everyone else.

there are strains which make very shitty seeds and some strains that are owned by a handful and are clone only please understand this, also seeding pollen throuh the mail? stupid idea why should i run risk of pollenating my crop? most of your guys posts are unhelpful no hard feelings intended.

@dro love.

i live in alaska, the only route to cali is through canada and their customs are ridiculous and why drive 3,000+ miles when i could ship? i wanted to make sure cuttings survived though.

im sure youve heard of the silk road. they manage to ship clones and a few at a time. you can search how they do. but i think i have a solution. fedex ship it to wherever, but make sure to do overnight delivery or faster. thats what ive been told by friends that ship internationally

Been there done that. Company "Sure To Grow" makes a poly fill like material. I soaked it in a Ph'd H2O2 bath, and filled zip lock bags with it surrounding the greens (point being water AND air, not soaked at point of shipping, just damp), then just before shipping sprayed into the top of the bag a bit of seltzer water (without sodium) for CO2, then vac pac'd the whole thing bag and all making sure the air pocket stayed in the ziplock. Not sure all these measures were necessary, but it worked and I was able to get roots without the culture. (had a lab to use and all if it had been needed)

Keep me updated, I would be interested to hear your story.

^^^ Shipped from GA to AK.

Of course mark it so as to let the shipping folks know it is not to be allowed to freeze. (Freeze Sensitive)

Regular letters are not checked by customs. Jewlery bags will fit a couple leaves perfectly. Just put some fresh leaves in and get all the air out. I used to do this when I mailed spore prints to people in other countries.
