Thanks for the feedback! I guess this means that on the next grow I will be adding just a bit of the Grow it Green to the Flower Power during flowering. It is too late for these two guinea pigs.

There's nothing better than a Saturday morning flush! (well... maybe a Saturday morning harvest)

word... Saturday harvest sounds great to me, but honestly i think those girls could use at least another week. :bigjoint::leaf:

Yo Bucket!
Oh, no question. I wasn't suggesting that I was going to be harvesting them today. I started the flush this morning... I will maybe harvest in a week/week and a half... depending on when The Trichs are Right.

"Come on down! You are the next contestant on The Trichs are Right!"

On a related note, I abandoned my dream of an under-sink water filtration system. I was planning on using the hole that is currently a soap dispenser for the faucet. Unfortunately i found out that it doubles as the air gap for the dishwasher drain, so no dice on that one.

I moved to plan B and got RO water from the refill station at Safeway. 33 cents/gallon isn't bad for my little grow. It could actually end up being cheaper per year for me than the RO system (though I wanted it to drink, too. Sick of the Brita).

My tap water is at 200ppm, which isn't bad for the chemical nutes (Advanced Sensi AB)... but it hasn't seemed to do well with the organic stuff. I tested the ppm of the Safeway water, and it is at 0ppm. Perfecto. I am finishing the two big plants with plain tap water... but I switched my veg chamber to running the RO water today. When they go to the flower chamber in a few weeks, they will be getting R/O water there, too.

Hey Tokers and Jokers,
I watched the Cervantes videos today for fun, since it had been a long time. In section 3, he says to set the PH in Hydro-Organic setups within a range of 6-6.4.

I was still sticking to my 5.6 from the Advanced chemical nutes program. Whoops!

Well, I have corrected the issue and both flower and veg are now set to 6.1.

What do you more experienced Hydro-Organic growers use for a PH range?

That's what I always thought! i have been setting my ph to 5.6 in hydro until now.

Now I found out that Cervantes said that in HydroOrganic, you should have a higher PH. 6.0-6.4

I have it locked in at 6.0 right now to test this new info a little while hopefully not completely sacrificing my grow to the science gods.

Anybody else care to opine on this?

I see some red hairs... we are getting close to harvest time. I am REALLY happy with this pheno of Sensi Star. The two clones i took from it after it was 2 weeks flowering (and after BushMaster) seem to be reverting back to vegetative growth here in week 5. The BushMaster DID seem to help this plant stay a very short 18" and dense (one big cola), as well as shorten the flowering period a bit. This ladies' trichromes are pointing to a middle of week 6 harvest on a 7-8 week strain.

The Purple Wreck has actually filled out as all of the fan leaves go yellow.

Anyway... Enjoi!

Nice with the Bushmaster. Would you recommend it to another grower looking for something tohelp keep height down?

If you check out my grow on page 3 you can see the area I'm working with for doing a mini-sog. It's about 24 inches total.

Definitely! I only have 24 inches of headroom, too. It can be challenging.

For instance, I grew Diesel Ryder last time, and I still had to train 3 of 4 plants to keep them under control. The sensi i am growing right now is supposed to get much taller (though a relatively short strain, as well), but it is just locked in at 18".

It is just one big-ass cola.

My only advice is this. Use less than the reccomended amount for hydro, and then get it cleared out within 48 hours.

Less is more.

All of the various seedlings are vegging nicely. They are all approx. 3 weeks from seed.

In the second photo you will see the Sensi Star clone that is starting to re-veg, slowly but surely.

I will be away in about 4 weeks, so my plan is to clone these little ladies (hopefully) as soon as the flowering stuff is harvested. I will then send the parent plants into flower just to sex them, and discard those males (as well as the parent plants since I will not be around to watch them for a week). Then I can come back and start trying some new strains in the flowering compartment. I plan on keeping them all-BMO + purple maxx and bushmaster.

No complaints, here!

Looks great, I'll be watching for sure.

Thanks for the answer about the bushmaster.

I have harvested the Sensi Star, at 6.5 weeks of flowering (slightly shortened by the BushMaster). Trichs were all cloudy with no sign of amber yet (which is the way I prefer it).

Attached are some photos. I am estimating about 1 oz. dry from this one plant. She was 18" tall from seed, and as you can see was one big cola. When I trimmed her I cut a few lower buds off of the main stem (which was difficult because of how densely stacked the nodes were... thanks to the BM and Purple Maxx for that) so that it would dry quicker, be better manacured, and to make sure that I can fit it all in jars for curing.

By eyeballing it, I am expecting around 1 - 1.5 oz. of dried, manicured bud off of this 18" xmas tree. Not too shabby.

I am really excited to smoke this sensi pheno. I was really happy with the development of the plant, its height, and how much weight it could handle as a lollipop. I am glad that i have 2 clones of her which are now fully reverted to veg. I imagine that I will harness her genetics for quite some time to come... even as I am sampling new strains all the time.

Anyway, feedback is greatly appreciated!

not sure about sensai or kong. i grew sensi star, from Paradise Seeds. Thanks for checking out the grow, though!

BUCKETHEAD!
Looking good on your grow! Thanks for the compliment.

I switched out the carbon sleeve (odorsok) for a standard can scrubber from Foothill Filters several weeks ago, and I am finding the improvement in odor reduction to be massive. I can't imagine recommending the odorsok to anyone! The filter from foothill is performing quite well, on the other hand.
