serenade - bacillus subtilis

was perusing the grow store today for something, anything to use as a preventative for botrytis cinerea (gray mold).

i refused their suggestion of eagle 20, which is a non-organic systemic with some documented adverse side effects.

but i was intrigued by a product called serenade, whose active ingredient is bacillus subtilis, an organic spore that inhibits gray mold and which is naturally occurring in humans and soil.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacillus_subtilis

my only concern besides efficacy of the product itself was this little blurb...

B. subtilis is only known to cause disease in severely immunocompromised patients, and can conversely be used as a probiotic in healthy individuals[SUP][6][/SUP].

i do help out a few patients with severe immune system deficiencies, cancer patients, and the like.

i was wondering if anyone had used this product before, how effective it was, any adverse reactions from patients, affect on taste/quality of the product, etc.

any help or feedback is appreciated.

I do use this product since last year that i have plants are infected with leaf septoria and PM as well. I used spray, not concerate liquid one.

I sprayed with it 3 weeks before harvest....no problem after all serenade is organic...plus its really stinky and smell remind me of bleach....

and recently i have same problem- leaf septoria again....same thing like last year...but one thing i grow different strains...this particluar strain got burned from it...i mean bad and i had to defoliated about 8 or 10 nodes along with branches....learned my lesson...I would suggest to start with dilute with water down...so you can read the plant for react.

this product is solid.

happy gardening

It smells, and if found it to not be very effective. I used it just last month on a large tomato greenhouse grow. My gh smelled for 3 days like serenade, and the pm never left. I fight that shit with tomatoes every year (this year being the worst), iI find it best to be proactive with ventilation and removing any visible spots. I can usually control it manually just be sure to clean your bypass pruners after cutting a plant with visible spores. I have NEVER tried it on cannabis however, so all of this maybe useless information haha. sorry buck, best of luck.
