Serious AK47... Anyone have it recently?

I had some White Rhino back in...this would have been 1998 and I still remember it vividly. A guy with a grow house in WA gave me a few grams of it because I listened to him bitch about his wife entrapping him in a meth bust...true story. Anyway, still remember it as some of the most incredible weed ever. It seems that many strains tend to get corrupted over time and lose their shine somehow.
 
I ran Medicine Man (White Rhino) for yrs...lost her to pm 3 yrs ago.Everybody just loved it so much..... except for me.I found the stone very boring...it had earthy,spicey taste and nose.

Those are all good points and I can't argue with the environmental factors and user errors you mentioned IF watching in a movie theater, which is something I rarely do for those very reasons. hahahah

I prefer the comfort of my own home where I can comment on the movie to my wife or fart or have a dab or pause to take a leak at my pleasure. :)



But y'all know what I was getting at. We each have our own opinions and interpret our experiences differently. :P
 
I grew a pack of AK47 about 4 or 5 years ago and was pleased with what I found. Uniform plants, no issues, great mango and ginger aromas, GREAT yields, but with that being said I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to buy them. There are lots of great packs of seeds out there. I let my AK47 go only after I crossed her to a kali mist male and liked that cross better.

In regards to the Kali Mist seed pack I bought around the same time, it's legit. Mine flowers for 115 days or so and is the most positive, mood elevating, euphoric herb I've ever smoked. Forum friends have enjoyed their gifted samples and others have really liked her crosses. I would in fact go out of my way to buy a pack of Kali Mist. She's only for the advanced grower though.

Do you really think that Kali is still good? I have been wanting it for a while. The long flower time had me intimidated!
Moonshine is out right now and my ife said that we NEED a good sativa! I have stepped up my game and I can finally get good results, it could be time!

That's pleasant news to me considering my kali Mist were purchased around 2010. :weed:


but I'm not exactly an advanced grower. Any tips should I decide to crack them?

possibly it sounds like you got them before things went bad @ SS? if they are the good types then probably crossing them with everything you possibly can maybe the go? also some may say open pollinate them among themselves too, cos it sounds like you have got the last of a very good thing...make the best of it i guess...be a shame to just grow them out then thats the end of that strains genetics forever maybe?

So what's your best guess on a timeline for when Kali Mist was good, not so good, then good again? I bought a pack around 2000 that was unreal. Best smoke I've ever had. Bought another 2 packs around 2009-2010...which sucked.

So when did they take the Afghani out of the equation? Would they be closer to the original if I were to buy a pack now??

A couple of posts back was the first I heard of this problem. I'd love to know the answer myself. That's to long a flowering period to not know its the real deal.

I know how greenhouse got fucked up. But I though serious seeds was one guy (Simon). Did he sell? Or did he pass on the responsibility for seed production to someone else?

...im only going on the timeline whats been offered here by various growers, one grower(homebrewer) here states his were good around 4-5yrs ago...then another(flash63) who very recently grew some out said his was lame....so if yours were crap 5yrs ago ive no explanation...like i said with my ak47 beans...probably going to end up being a quick nibble for some parrots?...since there seems a lot of negative with recent SS gear & mine being only purchased 1mth ago....may sound wasteful, only 5 beans, lifes too short especially since ive got proven beans worthy of growing..and umm i may have got some details mixed up between kali & ak about actual timelines of good beans...soz

If I possessed Kali mist I'd have to run it! I kept popping my AK and watching the best of each batch go auto on me. But since I had the seeds I kept trying until all 3 packs were gone. :wall:
Maybe there's some user error in the mix too. Until this thread I hadn't heard a bad word about Kali mist. However I've seen many threads on the auto malfunction. Take it with a grain of salt I'm just one guy but seeing is believing.

Trust me I've always badly wanted to run it but I'm a novice and that flower time scares me and I would be really sad to fuck it up somehow.

Well you could pass them on to someone :roll: ---> you pop and sex them ---> keep cuts of each female---> give the plants to a trusted friend to flower. Now you should be able to test it. Then you know which one to use to make FEM S1s. Then you've got female genetics to save of the selected female AND a cut to test drive??:weed:
 
I just got a clone from a local Prop 215 medical meds spot . She is so strong I've only had her 5 days and she

I Just got these from a local medical prop 215 store in San diego. This AK 47 is the strongest plant I've seen . She doubled in 3 days !
